I have noticed more than once that late at night, after midnight, I get the "Press Select Key For Ordering info" banner, and it won't go away.

So all through the show you are forced to look at the annoying thing at the bottom of the screen.

This happened again last night as I was tring to find something to watch in the wee hours of TV info-mercial crap viewing.

During the late night early morning HDNet is pay per-view HD. Unfortunately instead of showing first run PPV's they usually show smaller budget independent stuff.

Yeah, please don't order that PPV as its costs about $5 a pop and the sound is a pitiful Dolby Digital 2.0. Its kind of like when HBO first came on in the 1980's and they weren't on 24 hrs/ day yet and TBS filled in the empty airtime. Dish Network has a better system, with more space for HD than DIRECTV does, though Dish has no need for Wisconsin's locals to be added to their lineups...sad. But they DO have a PPV channel dedicated to just that and not just at late night hours...I'm not sure if it is 2.0 DD or not like DIRECTV. But they DO have Discovery HD Theater and CBS HD (national feeds) if you are lucky to have local service in you DMA (poor Milwaukee, again!)

The wierd thing is I don't really have to order it because it never goes off the screen like the other PPV channels.

It just leaves the stupid banner at the bottom.

I too saw the "Press Select" message last night. (E86 IRD) It was on the screen for the last half-hour of HDNet, before it went to PPV. Rather annoying. Once 1AM rolled around, however, there was the obligatory 5 minutes of PPV preview, then blackness.

Mike Sheahan

Yeah, I guess thats what it must have been.

I wasn't sure exactly wat time I saw it, but I know I was watching for more than the usual five minutes.
