I am not sure what you guys are looking at but I think Tami Hughes is very attractive.....maybe not Stacia Dubin hot, but still pretty  good looking.

QuoteTom, How in the heck are you 'bumping' into all these local celebrities? I need to learn your tricks.
I'm a stalker. ;)

Vince and Susan were at a Tweetup on Sunday...Katrina was entirely accidental... she just happened to be at a Restaurant we were at. Terry Meewson was at Channel 12 when I worked at WISN/WLTQ and they were in the same building.

Milwaukee is a small town, and it's easy to bump into these people. Recently, we've seen Vince Condella at Highland House, Portia Young at Jose's, Patrick Paolantonio   at Ale House, Lisa Manna at Stack'd Bar.

And we've seen a bunch of radio guys around town, but we only know who they are because we spent 10 years in radio and know a ton of 'em. You think TV people are bad looking? Ha! ;)

Is it just me, or does anyone else think something needs to be done about the time and temp.?

I'm sure they're working on it. Remember, WTMJ's bug was in SD for a few weeks after they launched HD as well.

You're right... it probably is pretty easy given the size of the town, but I guess I'll have to get out of the house for this to happen though. Being part hermit doesn't help.  :)

I did meet Kathy Mykleby at a Brewer's game a couple of years ago... that's about it for me. And she too looked MUCH better in person.

Quote from: duncantuna;54278Clearly, the scariest person on TV is Carole Meekins.  She is downright frightening.

I'm reminded of when Melodie Wilson was nudged off channel 4, like they thought she was too old or something.  She was lovely.    Then, how in the heck can Carole Meekins stay on TV??

When they first went HD I really felt bad for her, they tried every combination of makeup and nothing works

We're working on Time/Temp - for now it is SD...

Also, our first hour long news special in HD runs Friday at 9pm.....FOX 6 Season of Giving....if you have a chance to watch it, tell us what you think.

Also, knowing that we have limitations on what we can do from a time perspective...what other types of specials would you be interested in seeing (in HD)....

I noticed that most local FOX news stations have a similar setup to the national FOX news channel. I was just curious, why doesn't Milwaukee?

If you mean the "O&O Graphics", I'm glad WITI decided not to go with them. I just don't think they'd "work" in this market.

Steve Mann

That example looked pretty damn good to me.

Ditto. I will have to disagree with WITI6Fan. I think they would be great here... the problem being is that they are part of a complete package (graphics, music, and set), and I don't think any single piece works by itself. Together, they're outstanding.

Case in point, they are using at least a version of the O&O music for WITI's newscast, and it seems totally mismatched with the set and graphics they are using currently. Even if they implemented the graphics as well, I think the current set would not match at all.

I wouldn't mind seeing the O&O graphics IF WITI got the O&O set. It's an amazing set, and the design of it would allow WITI to utilize every square inch of Studio A, unlike the current one.

Unfortunately, it seems that Local TV, LLC has a history of not buying new sets. :(

My biggest beef with the Fox 6 HD newscast is the lipsync. Stuff from the studio looks good but some of the remote shots and field footage the lipsync is off by at least a second or more. I'm just waiting on Godzilla to appear in the background on a remote in downtown Milwaukee.
