It took them two years after their latest retransmission agreement (and long after my favorite WB show starring a certain Lauren Graham ended, sadly), but Charter has finally come to some agreement with Sinclair as of tonight and is now carrying their HD signals, at least here in Sheboygan;

614 - WCGV-DT
618 - WVTV-DT

Hopefully this is across the entire SE WI serivce area. I'm still crossing my fingers for the Ion subchannels and one of the weather subchannels (WTMJ Storm Team or WBAY-DT2 from Green Bay), but this certainly is a welcome suprise coming into transition week.

I guess your gain is our loss.  Charter pulled WVTV and WCGV (analog) entirely from their lineup in Oshkosh, unfortunately.  The mailing that was sent out from Charter explained that those stations' network affiliations are available on other channels from the Green Bay market.  Unfortunately, the network programs only account for part of the programming day and we'll miss out on their local schedules.

In Sheboygan, do you also receive WIWB-DT and WACY-DT?  If so, then I would question the reasoning Charter had stated to customers for the channel removals.

We don't recieve either of those stations, mainly since Charter (when they were Marcus) in 1992 got burned when WACY went off the air under their WXGZ guise. WIWB was never added because the analog tower was so far up north of GB (as it's licensed to Suring) that it wasn't recievable via antenna.

Mainly though the taking off a channels is more about market area and desperation than anything else. WACY is terminally a lousy station and probably asserted must-carry to push WCGV off to try to get viewers, while WIWB is on the rise and trying to get better.

It's mainly a part of where you are, and Winnebago County is north of the Milwaukee market area, while WVTV has abandoned the "Wisconsin's Superstation" era of the past and letting carriage agreements lapse outside their own area as other areas finally get CW service. That's why somehow WWAZ out of Fond du Lac (which is off the air because their parent company is in bankruptcy) got must-carry for their unwatched station and WVTV was taken off Time Warner.

I have and I'm definitely on the list. Thankfully the station comes in wonderfully on the antenna from where I am pretty steady so I'm happy either way :).
