Does anyone have a complete list of what time each local station is turning off their analog signal on June 12th?

Analog? What is analog? :rof:

Once again for those here that don't know, our switch from digital channel 61 (18-1) to digital channel 18 (18-1) will take place at 9am on Friday June 12th. Re-scan, re-scan, re-scan, did I mention to re-scan?

FYI channel 12's info.......(Friday the 12th at high noon)

WPXE ION

Just got word a few hours ago WPXE will terminate analog service at Noon on the 12th. :)

Keep an eye on the news for other announcements.

WTMJ has a countdown clock being displayed under the T&T graphic for the next few days...they're out at 12 noon also.

WITI has been running a crawl for awhile saying they were shutting down at midnight.  Since I'll be at work at noon, I gotta figure out which one of the stations going off at noon I want to record.

It is my understanding that WTMJ-TV ch. 4 and WITI-TV, ch. 6 are not going to exactly shut down analog. However cease regular programming on chs 4 and 6 and replace it with 24 hours of DTV conversion info...pretty much the same way WVTV, ch. 18 and WCGV-TV, ch. 24 did.  However 18 & 24 did it for 2 weeks, 4 and 6 would be required to do so for 30 days. So it won't be until around July 12th when Ch. 4 and 6 will shut off their analog signals.

Correct me if I am wrong.

They should post a huge headline in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel to instruct people to RE-SCAN their TVs and converter boxes sometime after Friday 9am.

I would hope Tim Cuprisin would make mention of it, providing he is back at writing his articles in the paper after a long vacation.

It looks like Ch.4 will sign off as 12:10pm on Friday, according to their clock during their news broadcasts.  Also, from a post by Ch. 10's GM, 10/36 will sign off at 9am, and they will be airing their original sign on from day 1,  any TV history buffs will definitely want to roll tape on that

WTMJ-TV ceases regular programming on its analog transmitter at 12Noon Friday, followed by 2 hours of a slide or some info instructing the viewer they must convert and offer suggestions and a telephone number to get help regarding the DTV conversion.  By 2:00pm they will shut off the analog transmitter.

WITI-TV, ch. 6 will cease regular programming on its analog transmitter and switch to 24 hours of DTV conversion videos exactly the same kind that was aired on WCGV-TV and WVTV for the last 2 weeks.  WITI-TV will shut off it's analog transmitter on  Friday, June 26th.  So therefore 87.7 FM will also be airing the DTV info till then and then 87.7 FM will go off the air.

Who knows, then maybe some 14 year old guy will put a FM pirate station on 87.7 this summer. LOL!

Channel 6 will be the only analog on the air till June 26.

Anyone have a exact time when WITI will go to the info video? I've heard 3 different times.

The latest I heard is 11:30am...  I guess they will air a sign off and the "Flag Evolution" SSB (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=auupP1FDlKA), then go into the DTV loop

I checked tonight Chicago stations and found that all of them except CBS affiliate are increased power dramatically. And they are coming very strong. I doubt it is a tropo effect, I never got ch 26-1 clear, never. Now it is clear, 68%.
So, I guess maybe CBS Chicago will switch to a new channell sometime tomorrow and will be available too.:guitar:

Off the top of my head.

WLS ABC 7 will be moving DTV to channel 7.
WBBM CBS 2 will be moving to DTV 12, which is why WISN signs off at noon with no nightlight/info/ect.

I'm hoping some of you guys will be able to capture and upload the signoffs to YouTube or similar? I'd love to see them, but I'll be at work. :(
