I don't know how long they have been doing this (because i'm watching WTMJ in HD all the time now) but WISN has their own wings on the side that say WISN-DT. They are also using another version of graphics that appears to have the same font as TMJ. I don't have any images to share, but take a look for yourself tonight on their newscasts. Looks like their rushing to go HD soon, possibly because some of their viewers have "made the switch" to TMJ.

Did you happen to see the 5pm open, is it different?  I watched 12 News This Morning today didn't notice anything different.

Were they anything like this?

Or did they look different?

Just saw them. Here's a cap for those who didn't see...

EDIT: This is new. HD-ready new...

Yup, and the 9:50 tease for the 10:00 news had the Hearst-Argyle HD graphics package. They are DEFINITELY going HD, soon (I think).

LoadStar

Hmm. They're right in the middle of an upgrade to their chyrons. The package is definitely transitioning to the updated (HD-ready) Hearst-Argyle package. L3's, OTS, "infobox," and segment bumpers are all from that package.

Weather, main title graphics, and sports ticker are all still using the old package. Music package is still the older version of the Hearst-Argyle standard as well.

Still haven't moved to the newsroom for newscasts --- yet. Hopefully they will transition the newsroom soon so the building of the new HD set can start. :)

I was thinking they'd move to the UpFront set, as it's in a different studio and probably would work better than the newsroom...

The speculation is great but, can someone answer the question of the heck was happening on Wells street this morning.

I'm on vacation this week, thought I missed the local 5:00-7:00 am news block and noticed programming was off about an hour and a half.

The 5:00 am newscast was partially repeated, Good morning America didn't start until 8:30.

I noticed it about just after 7:00 am  when the crawl clock said it was 5:45 am. :huh?::confused:

It was OK on OTA here!
