Hello all,
having TWC with my tivo series 3, where does it get the program information, from the coax cable going back to TWC or from the ethernet cable connecting it from the internet?

TIVO gets it's program information from the TIVO service via the internet. It's a subscription service that you pay for, either monthly, yearly, or a lifetime subscription.

Yes, it is their own service, not from the video source.

The phone line actually is a specialized internet connection, I believe; it's similar to the "points of presence" that dial-up ISPs use.
