TWC Doesn't Work With TiVo?

I just called TWC and cancelled HBO/Cinemax package and, while talking about their shabby DVRs with their Customer Service the woman actually said "I don't think that TiVo works with our cable service."

You gotta love a well informed customer service rep.

I also can't believe that I pay almost $100 a month to these people.  Ugh.  I feel dirty.

Well, I hate to defend Time Warner Cable,.... (really I do, I have had my fair share of problems)


You were probably talking with a "disconnect specialist" (or whatever TWC calls them)

Their main job is to make special offers to get you to keep the service(s) you are canceling.   My guess is they wouldn't be knowledgeable about much else in the company. Their job isn't to provide support connecting your cable to your devices or answering technical questions.  They probably have as little knowledge about tivo as a random person you meet on the street.  It would be hit or miss.

That's not saying a technical support rep wouldn't know either.  There are plenty of examples of lack of training in TWC's ranks.
