Has anyone noticed a change to the Navigator?  I haven't noticed any new features, but the text is clearer, and the color scheme is different in the guide.

Yea, I got it downloaded to my box this morning.  For appearance, it is MUCH improved.  I was hoping for more in the way of those missing features like Keyword Search.  But, as I said in the Navigator Update thread,  the GUI looks like a quality presentation now, instead of a rushed high school student's Computer Science Project:

There are some small improvements:

1.) Color Scheme:  Actually, this improvement is not small  but HUGE.  I find the IPG finally likable to look at.

2.) Keyboard Functionality:  This is improved where cursor wraparound is now available when you go in any direction.

3.) Slightly different searching on MDN boxes (not sure about OCAP models) You press B once for the keyboard search screen, and twice for Category Searching.

4.) Response time seems slightly faster:  However, I did not have unusual slowness from before.

For me, the only problem, and it is minor

5.) My Closed Captioning still does not work, and appears to be a box related issue according to other subs who have had the same or similar experiences with CC on the non-C (Mystro) boxes.  It should be noted that my CC never worked with Passport either on this DVR. (SA 8300 HD) (No C.)  CC is a 50/50 crap-shoot on ALL the boxes.  I use digital headphones 90% of the time for TV watching as I have hearing loss and the improvement in sound with the headphones is so phenomenal that I don't even need CC when using them.

Searching appears to be the same on my OC(r)AP models.

and yes, that is my nickname for the boxes ever since I first plugged it in and my wife misread the LED text to say OCRAP.  She said "Why does it say Oh Crap?  Is it broken?"

What's funny is about a year ago, I spoke to a TWC head tech who gets the heads-up on the goings on at their main New York office.  He personally issued recommendations that Navigator was not ready for prime time and wanted another year (at least) for Beta testing.  They said they couldn't do that.  He did not go into the reasons why, but it is RUMORED that Navigator had to be deployed by a certain deadline to meet the FCC mandate that all new cable boxes coded C were to begin distribution by July 1, 2007.  The integrated cable cards caused all kinds of problems regardless of the box or software used in their early stages of development and the TWC field techs personally GAVE them the nickname "O-CRAP" to all the C boxes!
