MPTV 10.1 Side Banners??

I recorded a Rick Steves travel program last night and watching it
tonight it had those blue side banners with MPTV 10.1 on the sides
which are really annoying to say the least... but... putting my tv display
into full scan mode(no picture overscan) I noticed the program was
actually a full 16:9 picture with those stupid side bars plastered
over it, the edge of the program still visible past the right edge
of the right banner and at the bottom of both banners. So here's a
perfect 16:9 full HD program ruined. I was kinda surprised to see
MPTV go to side banners after the channel re-arranging but thought
maybe they want to burn MPTV 10.1 into kids retinas during the 12
hours of kids programing on a full HD channel(what a waste!)
So I would like to ask MPTV 10.1 to......
TEAR DOWN THOSE BANNERS!!!!!!!

Yes it seams like Channel 10 has lost their minds and have no clue how to push out a picture.  This is starting to really get nuts.  I also love how "This Old House" states it is HD but then it is shrunk down and stuck with those dumb banners.  Get a clue!

To jump on the pile ..

.. MPTV continues to broadcast HD shows on their SD channels, the most egregious example being The News Hour, their crown jewel.   Won't be renewing my support until that is rectified.

They're showing off the new This Old House Postage Stamp! {fart}

Even more annoying is that shows like "Motorweek" which are in widescreen standard definition (and used to be widescreen on 36.1) now  end up getting "window boxed".
Fortunately, the "zoom" setting on your TV can fix this for most folks.

But it seems quite asinine...

So true about motorweek.

...but since I won't watch that show anymore now that they went off the deep end on garbage environmentalism with their Carbon Foot print and Barrels of Oil.  They lost this viewer!

Yea I thought Motorweek was widescreen on 36.1 too.
When I watched it last week and saw it letterboxed I thought
someone forgot to switch it or perhaps they are so enamored
with those dumbo ears they thought...what the hell, we're
wasting 12 hours of full HD already what's a few more eh?
