Quote from: LoadStar;48376And just as soon as I mention something here, they correct it. It now shows the correct logo and name.

You wonder if they're watching this board? :)

(Hey, TWC - if you are reading this thread, your logo for WCGV  is wrong. You are using the logo for WYTV in Youngstown, OH!)

Quote from: Jack 1000;48381More Guide Mistakes:

Aztec America appears as a duplicate channel in both the 500 and 800 channel numbers.

One of the channels listed as part of the Latino Package, I think it's Galavision, is using the GSN logo, which belongs to Game Show Network, GSN.

Jack

LOL... I just noticed that they've corrected all these problems, aside from the duplicate Azteca America.

Nice to know TWC is listening to us here. :)

mindmess

If TWC were really listening to us maybe we would have more than just a handful of HD channels.
Maybe they can give us some shopping channels in HD. Those count don't they?
Or did I just give them an idea.

Quote from: leprechaunshawn;48383Whats your zip code in Hartland?  I'm 53029 and I did a reboot this morning and I have no new channels in my guide.  I don't even have the BTN in my channel guide yet.

Leprechanshawn,

If you don't have BTN on either SD or HD, you should call TWC and see if it has been added in Hartland.  What shows up when you go to the channel(s)  SD or HD where BTN is supposed to be?  Is it that you have BTN and it's not in the Channel Guide Grid, or you don't have BTN at all? (You can't see it in the guide or tune to it?)

That channel should be released to all areas of TWC-Wisconsin.  Maybe by some fluke, the update didn't carry to your box, so they might be able to activate the channel over the phone.  (I would hope.)  Post back and let us know what happens.

I suppose I am obligated to ask the stupid question that a box reboot did nothing?

I can tune to BTN and the other 5 HD channels that have been recently added. They just dont show up in my channel guide.  I have tried re-booting several times but it hasnt worked.  I was at Mayfair and stopped in the TWC store and the guy sent a reset to my box and that didnt work.  He told me to bring the box in and exchange for a different one but right now we are trying to watch all the stuff on the DVR before we go trade this box in.

Sounds good.  That way you can clear off your DVR and than call or trade in your box.  But this seems to be a signal issue at the head-end that might be causing BTN to not show up in the guide.  What program is on the guide listing in BTN's place?

The other thing you might want to do is instead of a warm reboot of Vol+/-/Info with pressing the keys on the DVR, unpug your DVR for about 10 minutes to really get any bad data that might be in it, out.  Than plug it back in and watch it reboot.

I'm just concerned about you getting a new DVR and the same problem occurs.  Try that cold boot thing with a good 5-10 minutes with the DVR unplugged.

After doing that, if BTN still isn't in the guide, you might want to call TWC first and have them check your lines and signal first if the cold boot doesn't work.  At least they could run those signal checks before replacing the box.

I second that, especially if you have an 8300HD.  Because if they swap it, you'll be getting an 8300HDC.  And those things are horrible.you can check basic downstream power and SNR in the diags of your box.  If they are way off, then TWC may be able to fix the issue.

I think much of the talk around here about the 8300HDC boxes is uwarranted hearsay.  I recently had an 8300HD with problems (couldn't tune some channels and I was told I needed to replace the box).  I was a little nervous but didn't have much choice.  I notice no difference between my new HDC box and my old HD box (except that I now get all my HD channels).  If anything, it actually seems a little *faster* than my 8300HD in another room.

leprechaunshawn

I already have an 8300HDC so maybe the box really is the problem.  I did a cold re-boot this morning and left the box unplugged for a good 15 minutes and when it powered back up the new channels were all there in my guide.   I powered everything down for a few minutes and turned the TV and cable box back on and all the new channels were gone again.

Has anyone seen the remainder of the promised HD additions yet?

Things have gotten quite a bit better with the HDC box since the last update.  The 8300HDs are still faster.. but the HDCs are bearable now.

My parents have a C and I don't.  It's very slow compared to my non-C box when navigating through the guide.  It's painful.  That's my main issue.  And the fact if it ever crashes or you need to reboot it, it takes 3 times longer.

LoadStar

Sooooo... back to the channel additions. Anyone hear or see anything about the remaining channels being added?

Maybe it's their box.  Like I said, I have one of each and there is virtually no difference.  I think the guide on my C box is actually a tad faster.  I use my non-C box more often to that's what I'm most use to.  When I go downstairs to my C box,it seems pretty snappy to me.  I can't really speak about reboot times though as that is a very infrequent occurrence.
