Quote from: TPK;48164So if this hold ups, it looks like TWC is at least starting to compete with u-verse for the HD channel offerings...

Some of these channels (ABC Family, Disney) are not even avialble on U-verse as of yet...

As a U-Verse sub, I see these TWC additions as a good thing...  It will force AT&T to not be complacent about adding HD channels...

We've had both of those on Comcast for months, very, very little HD content.  ABC Family still shows some movies in SD that have already aired in HD on ABC.

I don't have any of the new channels by Marquette.

Here's to hoping that USA-HD, StarzHD (and Starz on Demand) and all of the available HBOHD's get added soon!

Just the test channels here in Greenfield as well. Sure would love me some SciFiHD.

I got no additions up here in Grafton yet.

5 Channels are lit up for me .. TWC-Milwaukee.  All of them are in the 18xx "test" range ..

1. Food Network HD on Channel 1815,
2. Palladia (MTV) on Channel 1823,
3. Discovery HD on Channel 1838,
4. TLC HD on Channel 1840,
5. Animal Planet HD on Channel 1843.

I get them in the 1800s also.  Food HD sits there blank, but the rest are fine.

Food Net is on for me ..

Just tried Discovery HD .. for 2 seconds it said it was unavailable .. then presto, it came back.

Odd, though .. the video has .. black bars.  But small black bars, about 1/2 the size of your usual black bars.    Picture looks pretty sharp, though.  I imagine I'm looking at some sort of upconverted SD?

I have since Thursday (and hopefully forever):

1. Food Network HD on Channel 515 (Food never looked better)

2. Palladia (MTV) on Channel 523 (I think I could like this channel)

3. Discovery HD on Channel 538 (there, just not showing anything as available yet)

4. TLC HD on Channel 540 (sometimes it has a captivating show on, never watched it until it went HD)

5. Animal Planet HD on Channel 543 (like NatGeo and Discovery, really cool most of the time).

Nice that TWC managed to get an array of different type HD channels added all-at-once, not a specific genre, too...thank you, TWC! .

I just think it is interesting that the channels are being rolled out to different areas in segments rather than all at once (must be the flip to SDV that is adding time).  Once the "first 5" are all up on the 5XX channels for everyone, what's everyone's guess on how quickly the rest will be lit up?

I actually have them in the test range area 18xx but not in the 500 range. They don't show up on the guide but they are there. I'm sure that after they get switched to the 500 range we can expect the other announced channels in the 1800 range for a short period before they are fully adopted.

So now we can all bow down to the almighty TWC for finally adding a few more channels? I guess this is proof that competition is good for the consumer. Too bad it is too little too late for me as I will still be making the switch to UVERSE. I guess the other question is whether these channels will stick around or if these are more carrot and stick from TWC.

I think it's good that TWC is going by community so as not to overload all the boxes with too much bandwidth download at once.  It should make the transition easier for everyone, and HD subs will finally get some decent variety into their TWC programing.

I dont have any of the new channels out in Hartland.   But then again, I still dont have the BTN showing up on my channel guide yet either.  So, I'm not going to believe any of this new HD channels from TWC hocus pocus until I actually see them in my channels guide and can actually watch them.

I might not even have to wait though, U-Verse is available in my area and they have some pretty good deals going through the 20th of this month which may just get me to switch.  Plus AT&T includes wireless home networking and I just bought a PS3 so that might make my decision easier.

Do you mean that you don't have BTN in HD nor the SD channel on 63?  Or that you don't have BTN showing up at all on your box?

I can watch both BTN in SD and HD but they dont show up on my channel guide.  I have tried re-booting the cable box numerous times, but they still havent shown up on the guide.
