Technically, you don't have SDV, yet.  While Milwaukee has activated SDV on their boxes, they have not put any channels on it so far.  However, they will be putting these existing channels on it at the end of the month: ESPN2 HD, Fox Sports HD, Universal HD, TBS HD, HGTV HD, National Geographic HD, Discovery HD Theatre, A&E HD, MOJO, HD NET, and HD Net Movies.

I'm assuming that if this roll out goes well, we'll start getting all the extra channels all the other SDV markets have been getting shortly after.  And I know it sucks not getting the channels now, but one benefit of being last in the SDV roll out is hopefully Milwaukee has learned from any issues that have occurred (if any have) in other markets.

Green Bay has SDV now, right?
-This TWC location has already, NINE more HD channels than Milwaukeeland TWC has and we have not heard anything about missing recordings, channels not available and so on, at least not yet.:huh?:

So maybe TWC Milwaukeeland will use the same stable SDV model here as they did there and it will work for us, too with even more HD channels.:D

It would suck for a while, but what I'd love to see is to have Milwaukee and Green Bay "align" their cable operations, now that they're all part of one big "Wisconsin" TWC franchise. That is, obviously the broadcast stations would be different, but outside those, change all the channel numbers so GB and MKE have the exact same channel lineups, exact same hardware infrastructure, everything... so when they implement some new channel, they can do it for both at the same time.

I don't think this'll happen, but it'd be nice if it did.

I just had TWC installed at my new place since it's my only option right now.  The tech said 15 new HD channels within the next month.  I'll believe it when I see it.

In the long run, it would benefit them to do so.  Support and network build outs would be so much easier if the systems were the same.  But that's provided they can make things match to begin with.  For all we know, before they merged the divisions did things 180 degrees from each other.  It could take them years to align the two networks if they were built differently.

But what I don't understand is,

What is so fundamentally different about TWC-Green Bay vs. TWC-Milwaukee?  Sure Milwaukee is so much larger.  But it's not like the systems can be THAT much different?  The divisions are now acting as if they in two separate states and two separate cable companies.  It would seem that the bigger city, Milwaukee, would have the technology and resources to offer the increased channels first, but they don't.  Why is TWC Milwaukee always last to near last for any new channel additions?

Green Bay is still on SARA, so I think that has played a role in their additions.

So has anyone ever thought of protesting with signs in front of a TWC office just for one day with TV stations covering it just to shame them??? "WE WANT MORE HD!!!"

I'm a Direct TV customer now but I would join in on it!!
