#2, I don't use any of navigator's features or have a DVR, I just want the channels.

#2. It's not even close.

Navigator has room for improvement but its not near the nightmare i expected. my biggest gripe is that, unlike passport, when you search it doesn't default to the show you were on in the guide, you have to enter it manually.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere else, but 539 is History HD and 549 National Geographic HD. Nat Geo looks great.

I expected to see a lot more posts on this. So the pic quality is good?  I am glad TW finally brought out 2 new channels. I have to admit I never had a problem with their quality, just the quantity.

AxMen in HD rocks! :guitar:

Have to admit I have not watched much on NatGeo yet.

The National Geographic HD channel is very cool, offers DD5.1 surround audio and it was worth the wait, but that is all we got besides the second HD channel addition:
The History HD channel
- It is mostly (or so it seems) a stretch-o-vision channel, offering only digital stereo audio (no DD5.1) and it PIXELATES all the time!
(FIX it, TWC! )

Wonder when we TWC HD subs will get any more HD channels like Green Bay got (six more on the same day we got these two they already got)?:(

I (like probably many others) assumed that the reason TW-SE took so long to get us these two channels was because they had to roll out Navigator, and get SDV up and running.  But according to the diag screens on my 8300HD, SDV is still not up and running.  So TW obviously just choose to delay giving us these channels for no good reason.

And the fact SDV is not currently enabled saddens me, as it means we are still that much further away from getting more HD..... :(

As I said back when Navigator was rolling, based on my experience of doing IT work for the last 15 years, the last thing you want to do while doing a major "upgrade" (I'll leave it up to the reader to decide if this qualifies) is do other non-essential changes at the same time. Worry about your systems upgrade, then when that is complete and the major show-stopper issues are resolved, then you can go back and do the non-essential changes you put off.

In this case, I don't fault them for waiting for the delivery of Navigator before doing any channel lineup changes. Yes, it would be nice to have more HD sooner rather than later, of course, but not if it introduces random elements in the middle of a systems upgrade.

And yes, I agree, if SDV is required to introduce more HD channels, then I would like to see it introduced soon as well. Of course, that's coming from someone who doesn't use a TiVo S3 or another cablecard device... those who do have one of those devices may have other opinions. :)

Good point.  I can understand not doing multiple major changes at once.  But is adding channels a major change?  I have no clue what it takes to add a channel, but I would think it's minor and fairly straight forward.  But who knows.

Note: The History HD channel continues to pixelate, drop out and so on on TWC SE Wisconsin and its just not at my location, either...other subs I know of have it, too.
If TWC's clueless CSRs tell you its the channel, inform them otherwise, as this weekend I assisted in some HT setups with Comcast and DirectvHD and there was no pixelation or anything of that which we are getting on TWC - there.

If this is what TWC-Milwaukeeland considers a HD channel addition, maybe they should learn how to add them-without such a messy HD channel addition like this.

National Geographic HD, so far, continues to impress with its clear picture, DD5.1 audio and no picture/audio dropouts
-It's nice to have ONE HD channel addition that went "right", TWC.

I think that business with dropping all my Showtime West SD channels, among others, went well for adding the Nat Geo HD.:)

As far as the History HD addition, from where ever they "took" bandwidth back...not-so-well.

Interesting, NGHD on DirecTV  is not that impressive. It's just not as sharp as other HD channels.

AAARRRGGGHHH!!! :bang: :bang: The pixelation (if that's a word) and drop out of the History Channel is absolutely annoying!!! TWC - Get your collective heads out of your arses!!
