Is this game really in HD? It looks like 16:9 SD. I can barely make out the names on the pitcher's jerseys or the ads on the backstop.

Watching on D* BTW...

I was wondering the same thing. In-laws are down from "up nort'" and were asking about what all this high definition stuff is. I was switching back an forth and the SD Analog was really crappy, but the HD didn't seem quite as crisp as Packer games do. Color seems really low in saturation.

It appears to be upscaled "Fox Widescreen" which is 480p.  They used to do this for baseball quite often, but I'm surprised they are still doing this in 2008.

What's odd is both yesterday and tomorrow the game is on FSN-HD, so a fox owned HD truck is at miller park!  I guess they couldn't let their parent company borrow it for a day.

I live in Sheboygan, so I have the advantage of watching either Fox 6 (WITI) in Milwaukee or Fox 11 (WLUK) in Green Bay OTA, and both channels look identical ("upconverted" video).  I guess we can't blame the local stations or their equipment on this day.  All I needed to do to confirm the poor resolution (and know that it wasn't my HDTV) was to click over to the golf on NBC or the Indy car qualifying on ABC.  Those are definitely HD!

Wow, haven't we all been spoiled by the high definition technology now, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who scans the program guide for the HD programming over the SD programs, before I decide what to watch!

I was wondering what was up too.  I noticed it right away when the stupid life water commercial looked better than the ballgame.  Hard to believe they're still doing this in 2008...

I watched Baseball Tonight on ESPN HD &  all the Fox games looked to be in 480p WS. Looking like a national issue.

I was at the game so I didn't see the broadcast but that's completely unacceptable.

I'll bet if the Yankees or Red Sox were on it would have been the most crystal clear HD signal you've ever laid eyes on.

For some reason, I remember hearing that FOX (network) does all MLB in SD Widescreen, at least until the post season. Not sure if that's still true or not.

The HD version on Fox Sports Net WI today was definitely HD... crisp and clean.

Not true. I watched last weeks and BTN after and HD was going strong.

I noticed something at the start of the game.

Before the first pitch, when they overlayed the FOX logo alongside the score, inn, hits info at the top...the logo was crystal clear HD for about 3 seconds...

...the it all went "fuzzy" and never came back to clarity for the remainder of the game.

To clarify, only the logo was clear...everything else was fuzzy already...then the logo went fuzzy about 3 or 4 seconds in and everything was fuzzy for the remainder of the broadcast.

I watched the Cubs on Channel 32-1 and Brewers on 6-1  both were obviously stretched 480. Fox baseball is usually in 720p HD.

I also noticed the same thing with the logo.

Perhaps it had something to do with there being a NASCAR race on Fox in HD right after the game. Most of their races are on Sundays, so the Saturday race could have impacted being able to broadcast the BB games in HD.

Brewers/Red Sox are on Fox this Saturday, we'll see how it looks.
