Quote from: Kenoman;45660I Need To Vent:
After receiving Navigator yesterday and checking out all the (so called) new features, only one feature was actually an improvement. The amount of space left on the DVR hard drive. The guide is totally worthless. Not only does it not show the cast for a movie but doesn't say if it's a comedy, drama etc. Does not indicate if a program is a repeat or new. If you want to search for  programs or moviess on for a specific time or day you cannot. I used to be able to search movies/drama and it would list all starting at the current time. No more.
I'm also sick of Time Warner's lack of concern for it's subs. Communication from them is non-existant. Even the Time Warner website is useless. One example is the movieplex channel. Now it's on 188 and 663. I never saw that in their channel notification page.
Don't even get me started on the lack of HD channels.
If and when we will ever get the NFL and Big 10 networks they will be added to the sports tier and we will have to shell out anothe $7 - $10 to see maybe 2 or 3 Packer games and about as many Badger games. Personally I could care less about the other channels in the sports package.
Ok I vented. I apologize to all you forum members but just so you know, I emailed TWC with the above concerns and all I received back was a form letter telling me how "Time Warner is continually moving forward to give it's subs the best in cable tv." I almost choked.

The seach feature TWC took away was a GREAT feature that I used ALL THE TIME!  Last fall when my bedroom got the "update" I was upset and thought maybe by the time my DVR's get the "update" they would put that feature back in.  NOPE!  Guess they thought we didn't need it!  I do agree with you the % left of the hard drive is nice.  Not a option I need since I don't really save many shows after I watch them but it is a nice feature.

I've had the Navigator for a while now but thats not the issue here.  My box was rebooting around 8 this morning and I think it might have deleted a few of my shows.  Does anybody know if How I Met Your Mother, Two and a Half Men & The New Adventures of Old Christine were new shows or repeats on Monday night?  I want to make sure I have correct information before I call TWC to get a credit for my service not working.

While I can't comment on whether any of those shows were new or not, I can say that TWC will want to send someone to your house to look over your box and probably want to replace the box rather than simply issuing you a credit over the phone.  I've called to complain about missing DVR'd shows and they always want to send someone to my house to look at it.  So far I've just declined...what a PITA :(

CBS had the NCAA championship game on Monday, so I'm guessing the those CBS shows were not on this week.

Good call. I forgot all about that.

I must of missed it but what is TWC reasoning behind pushing out Navigator?  Was there something wrong with the other software or is it just supposed to be an upgrade?

kevbeck122

Passport supposedly doesn't support switched digital video, which is what they need to increase the amount of HD channels.  The truth is, Passport does support SDV now... either TWC wasn't willing to wait until it did support it or they didn't want to spend the money to upgrade, so they developed their own crappy software.

Agreed that this Navigator seems pretty crappy, but I'll give it time and see if it grows on me.

More importantly, where are a bunch of my shows in the series manager?  It seems that anything not in the program guide isn't there (Lost, Entourage, Curb, etc.).  Might they appear in the series manager when they appear in the program guide?

Or is that asking too much?

I just got it Oak Creek this morning. Gotta say, I am not that excited about it. I guess we just have to live with it. Now only if TWC would roll out some more HD channels.

We got hit today with the Crapigator software.
I guess I'll have to get used to slow menus and less features till DTV comes down in price for all of my TV's and a HD DVR for free.
I've had a few DVR's die on me and the fact that they replace it for free is great for me.
My original DTV HD DVR was fine before I switched but I know of a few people that had them die on them and had to replace them. I don't like having to own the equipment so that is a big reason I'm still using TWC.

Yes, that will be the breaking point for me...I don't care if ALL the HD channels come out, just the ones I want, but considering TWC Wisconsin is CHARGING about the same pricing for its boxes, HD package and premiums, it would seem FAIR...maybe we should ask for a discount on our cable bills?
TWC is now saying on its site that the The Weather Channel and Sci-Fi Channel is in negotiations for reinstatement.
-So maybe that means we will get these in HD, soon, like SUMMER? :D

Then again, Multichannel News has mentioned that after April, TW Cable will be on its own, too...who know what will happen, then?
