I would have guess more people would have left due to it.  I know I am changing as well as my parents.  Maybe not everyone is posting that they have left.  Hell, all the HD choices DTV gives and no crappy Navigator, looks like a win win for me!!

Count me in as well.  I made the switch from TWC last week and I am very happy I did.  DirecTV is so much better than TWC.

I still have Passport on both of my 8300HDs but I did some price/info checking on DTV yesterday and today.  I see a switch in my very near future (I even talked to my wonderful wife about the stupid dish we're going to need to put on our home).

 Did you actually try it out at all?

Or is it more fair to say that you had already made up your mind to switch, Navigator or no, and you are using this more as an excuse than anything else?

I know that wasn't really directed at me but I'll throw in my 2 cents...

TWC has been bashed around here for a long time for their pathetic HD choices.  Navigator or not, a lot of people have been on the fence for a while.  Some need to save up money, some are waiting for U-Verse in their 'hood, some, are just lazy or indecisive (I'm in that last category ;) )

I'd really like to be watching BSG in HD right now but I also cringe at the idea of a dish being mounted to my 1880 victorian :(

And that's fair enough. I don't have a problem with switching from Time Warner for good reasons, and there are plenty of them out there. I'd switch myself if I could to get more HD choice.

I just think that if one is going to announce the moment that Navigator gets downloaded that they are switching (before even having used it at all), if they are being honest, they had already made up your mind to switch, regardless of the presence or absence of Navigator.

I've had the Navigator in my Bedroom since last fall.  Hated in there!!!  But I don't use the features in the bedroom like the DVR's in the other rooms.  So, yea, I have tried it out for a while and HATE it:bang: !  I love how TWC took features off the box just BECAUSE!  The search feature has been really missed in the bedroom but will REALLY be missed though out the house as of today.

BSG in HD will be GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not a fan of the dish BUT with the lack of HD with TWC and now the Navigator on ALL me boxes that sealed the deal for me and my wife!  I'm not a fan of a dish on my house BUT I am a bigger fan of the three HD TV's in my house:)   I have the "slim-line dish" ordered so maybe that "new" size dish wont be as bad as the first gen 5 LNB?.  Lets hope!!!

The 5 LNB Slimline dish is very much the standard on all new installs, even my brother got a new one when he complained about the bulky older one and my neighbours down the street just got a new install with it...shouldn't be a problem.

Actually, it looks like almost like a "piece of art", at least to me, against having to have two dishes like some dishnetwork customers have to get for HD locals.

After battling Navigator's slow operation and seeing its funky '80's graphics (thnk Commadore 64), I am seriously thinking of switching even sooner!

It's not like with Navigator, TWC Wisconsin is finally going to offer the 48+ HD channels (TWC-available) in Texas, NY or the Carolinas, anytime soon, even with Navigator, is it, Bev Greenburg?

gotta love TWC's so called update.  I pulled up my manager of shows I record so I could write them down since DTV is coming today and noticed since I got the update of Naviagtor it deleted most of my shows in the series manager.  I had I'm guessing 20+ shows that we have record when the are "new" and the manager now says only about 6 shows.  I went to my other DVR that also got he update and that one two lost show.  Funny though, not the same shows.  The second DVR had about 4 in the series manager.  Now each of the DVR's had the same shows in the manager maybe one or two different ones.  I had to got to each of the TV channel websites to try and remember all of the shows we had set up for "new" recordings.  I am SOOOOO glad I have DTV coming to day!!!  The only reason I switched from DTV two years ago is I didn't want to spend the $600 on a HD-DVR  TWC was the best option at that time for HD-DVR's since I need two.

Oh well, DTV see you in about an hour!!:guitar:

Exactly....one HD DVR was changed (you see the HDTV light on with it "off") and it had lost most of my series manager shows, except for those in the current "grid".
Then it lost the recordings for a specific time, as if the show is to be recorded only once a week, so I have to figure out how to set it to that time only:
My Example is "Star Trek Enterprise" on HDNET, it is considered a rerun-only by Navigator (now), so I want only recordings on 11 PM on Mondays and Navigator wanted record it all the time...that sucked.
The good news is that my other HD DVR has not "updated" yet and I was able to pull my series manager recordings off of it before TWC "fixes" it, too.
I was amazed, as I started writing them down, at the number of shows I lost in the series manager.:(
-BTW, this Mystro Digital Navigator only goes out for a week, not two, so its no big deal, but it so far runs faster than I thought it would...maybe TWC won't frack this up, too over time.:bang:

I agree with you on the Navigator running "okay" on the 8300 HD-DVR.  Not near as good as it did before But not as bad as my bedroom box that got the update last fall.  I personally don't like the look of the feel of Navigator.  Some of the features that I used often are totally gone.  I personally don't like the delay in the changing of the channels either.  TWC told me that is just part of the "new" upgrade.  The guy are TWC said it can take "upto" 3-4 seconds.  That SUCKS!

For me that wants more HD channels and hasn't liked the "update" to Navigator since fall 07 it's a perfect time for me to change.  It would take A LOT to get me to stay with TWC.  An equal number of HD content to DTV and of corse a better guide and menue system.  Let's say kind of like the one we all lost!

I Need To Vent:
After receiving Navigator yesterday and checking out all the (so called) new features, only one feature was actually an improvement. The amount of space left on the DVR hard drive. The guide is totally worthless. Not only does it not show the cast for a movie but doesn't say if it's a comedy, drama etc. Does not indicate if a program is a repeat or new. If you want to search for  programs or moviess on for a specific time or day you cannot. I used to be able to search movies/drama and it would list all starting at the current time. No more.
I'm also sick of Time Warner's lack of concern for it's subs. Communication from them is non-existant. Even the Time Warner website is useless. One example is the movieplex channel. Now it's on 188 and 663. I never saw that in their channel notification page.
Don't even get me started on the lack of HD channels.
If and when we will ever get the NFL and Big 10 networks they will be added to the sports tier and we will have to shell out anothe $7 - $10 to see maybe 2 or 3 Packer games and about as many Badger games. Personally I could care less about the other channels in the sports package.
Ok I vented. I apologize to all you forum members but just so you know, I emailed TWC with the above concerns and all I received back was a form letter telling me how "Time Warner is continually moving forward to give it's subs the best in cable tv." I almost choked.
