i subscribe to the TWC DIGIPiC 1000 package with HD package.  it offers 200 channels that i really don't watch.  do you guys know if i can just get basic cable with HD package?

You need a box to get the HDs and, AFAIK, the DIGI 1000 package is the lowest package with a box.  Cabelcard might be an option though. :huh?:

Digital Access Package is the lowest package you can go with HD... you'll get channels 1-99, Music Choice music channels and on demand I believe.  I'm not sure on the price, but it's gotta be a little cheaper than Digipic 1000.

IF your TV has a HD tuner I guess you could do basic standard and still get the HD locals.

K10, TWC's DigiPic 1000 offers the most amount of digitally-delivered channels and does not cost even marginally much more than the Digital Access package.
In a time where subs are demanding less analogue channels, DigiPic 1000 gets you there with many more channels for your subscriber money vs. Digital Access.
You will still need a HD convertor box @ $7.95/month to get HD delivery to your HDTV set if using a cable provider, though some QAMs are still available for delivery on the basic over-the-air HD channels if your HDTV set is so equipped.
As for CableCards, these are not two-way (yet) and so if the HD channel is in the Switched Digital Video application, you will not get the HD channel(s) you pay for, period.
Your best bet is to stay with the DigiPic 1000, the HD package (if there is a channel or two in there you like) and keep the HD convertor box.
Most bang for the buck, so to speak.;)
