Quote from: gparris;39854Thanks, I just checked, too both are on...I also got Thursday night's two CWHD shows ready to record, too.:D

Jimboy: Are both Thursday nights shows broadcast/do you offer them in DD5.1?
Additionally, does anything coming up on MyNtwk24HD actually have anything to watch in HD (like maybe, shows and movies)?

The site does not make it clear, at least to me (with 24, not 18) can you advise please...thanks!

I have heard rumors that Friday Night Smackdown is going HD this fall.

Upcoming MyNetworkTV (HD) stuff... http://www.milwaukeehdtv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=7036

MyNetworkTV doesn't send anything in DD5.1 (although we are equipped do to so if they send it)

Thanks, Jimboy with the info on CW18HD, but does digital channel 24 show anything in HD, too (and DD5.1)?

See post 16.

JMoran80

was wondering when the WWE would go HD.   Dont watch it anymore, but i would have thought Vince McMahon would have been doing HD at least for PPVs

Each time I have turned on the new 18 and 24 HD channels, the shows are NOT shown in HD.

So which shows are broadcast in HD on those channels? What times?

Network Prime (7-9pm M-F & 4-9pm Sunday) is typically HD on the CW. MyNet HD (Prime Time 7-9pm) varies from week to week. Everything else is upconverted (sorta like 4,6,12,58)

But upconverted stuff is still typically 16:9 right? Every time I have turned those stations on, it's got the black bars on the sides. I'll try primetime tonight and see what happens.

Upconverted stuff on all locals (4,6,12,18,24,58) is 4:3.

CW programming tonight (July 4th)
Hidden Palms (HD & 5.1) 7-8pm
America's Next Top Model (SD 4:3) from the network.

Not to hijack the thread, but do you have any idea if Hidden Palms is coming back for a second season?  The info in my guide originally said Series Finale, but tonight it said Season Finale.  CW's website has no information.

According to The Futon Critic:
"The netlet began billing tonight's "Hidden Plams" [sic]  season finale as its "series finale" over the weekend, officially torpedoing any chances for a second season of the series."

I noticed that on the same day TWC had added these channels to its system locally here, the added HD channels  518 and 524  appeared in their channel guide on their TWC website for Metro Milwaukee...all well and good.
Oddly enough, channel 507 for WMLW was listed on this drop down grid for available channels as HDTV.
Now, even the website listing of available HD channels:
http://www.timewarnercable.com/milwaukee/products/hdtv.html
TWC shows the unknowing and uneducated customer that 507 is an HD channel.

Come on now, TWC, you can do better by not misinforming your customers!

NOTE TO TWC: Channel 507 is NOT an HD Channel, okay?

507 has been listed for quite some time, and in fact WMLW is indeed carried in clear QAM digital on the Time Warner network.

The only reason I can think that they haven't actually mapped it to 507 is the confusion factor for customers, who would expect 507 to carry HD programming since it's in that block of channels.

(BTW: point of clarification. There is no such thing as an HD channel... there are digital channels, which can carry HD programming. Some just carry more HD programming than others. Nitpicking? Perhaps, but particularly when referring to digital broadcast channels, it's also more accurate.)

Digital channels (507) if sent at 480i resolution are not capable of HD material. Digital channels can be SD (480i/480p) or HD (720p/1080i) not both at the same time.  The point gparris was trying to make is that TWC advertises WMLW channel 507 as a HD channel when it really isn't.

Thanks, that is all I was trying to convey.
Now I am going to send them some emails to hopefully fix that listing on their HDTV website listing:
http://www.timewarnercable.com/milwaukee/products/hdtv.html
- and  the drop-down channel guide for HDTV on their grid on their website, too
http://www.timewarnercable.com/CustomerService/CLU/TWCCLUs.ashx?CLUID=78&Zip=&Image1.x=10&Image1.y=9.:D
Addtionally, on the above website, ESPN2HD channel 528 is not listed as a HDTV channel...odd...it has it as a "Channel with out a package".

Wish me luck...!

RLJSlick

That's well and all but to me, to put this in their HD lineup is very deceitful, even for5 TWC.
