Good article that's been popping up everywhere lately. JSO had it on Sunday and AVS has it on their front page as well.

Yeah, and the directv spokesman stated

"the difference in picture quality is a matter of opinion, said Robert Mercer, spokesman for satellite provider DirecTV Inc.

"We believe the DirecTV HD signal is superior to any source, whether it's over-the-air or from your friendly neighborhood cable company," Mercer said."

So what are they doing adding data to the source?  What BS.  There is no way Directv's feed can be better than the original.
