My father is having a problem with his new TV which he's had for about 2 months.  It's a 65" Mits DLP and has the airflow problem.  I've done some research and have discovered that quite a few owners of similar sets are having this problem as well.  Can anyone recommend a repair shop in the Milwaukee area that fixes Mitsubishi TVs?  The 1 year parts/labor warranty is of course still valid.

Chad

No one can recommend a reliable repair shop for Mitsubishi TVs? :(

Where did he get it? If it's still under warranty, the retailer that sold it to him should be the guys who would fix it...if he bought it from a catalog or over the Internet, I would still start with them to find out how and where to get the warranty work done.

If you can't get staisfaction from them, Best Buy and American are both Mitsu dealers.

He got it from Best Buy.  I had thought they'd only repair it if you buy the extended service plan... very pleased to learn I am wrong.  I'll let him know the good news.  Many thanks.

With no extended warranty, I don't think Best Buy will do anything for him (for free), but I could be wrong. You'll probably end up having to take advantage of the manufacturer's 1 year warranty, in which case you may have to ship it to Mitsubishi. Again, Best Buy may be willing to take care of this for him.

Anyone here been in in a situation like this with no extended warranty but within a year? What did Best Buy do for you?

Tom Snyder

It's only two months old. What's the standard warranty on a Mitsu.. I'm, thinking it's 90 days, isn't it?

I believe Flanners is still a Mitsubishi dealer and they have their own service department.

Quick update:

Best Buy came to his house and fixed the problem free of charge.  Thanks for the advice everyone.   Doesn't get any easier than that. :)
