HD Antennas

I was looking for an internal HD Antenna for my in laws for their new HD tv.  They live in Jackson which is about 25 minutes north of Milwaukee.  First off what is your recommendation for an hd antenna that is for inside the house and also are they too far from milwaukee to get the channels?  Please help.

I'd recommend hanging it from the ceiling.  If you bolt it to the floor, it's a pain in the neck stepping over the elements all the time.  Too far depends on how many elements you are willing to have to step over.  {glug}

Will it not work if I just put it next to the tv or on top of the tv.  It will be in a basement.  I was looking at the trek hdtva.

I have never heard any positive comments about Terk antennas.

For indoor, the only good results I have heard about are from the Zenith Silver Sensor and the Radio Shack Double Bow Tie.  I don't know if either are still available.

For outdoor, the Channel Master 4228 (8 bow tie) has worked for many people.  It could be used indoors in an attic, but is less effective indoors just like all antennas.

An antenna in the basement?

Antennas work better the higher up you can get them. In a basement, everything at ground level can cause interference. Things like a passing car or the neighbors house.

It may work OK, but don't count on it.

I get all the locals up here in Jackson with my Radio Shack Double Bowtie and I have deep woods between me and the towers. 18 and 6 are a little touch and go simetomes, but all the others give me more than adequate signal strength.

I live in Jefferson County and with a small botie UHF antenna can get both Milwaukee and Madison stations.  The bowtie antenna is available at Radio Shack for under $5.00!!!
