I think it's time to trade in the old Explorer 8000 DVR (non HD) and get a non DVR box.  I looked on the TWC site, but there is no mention of what equipment they are offering here in the Milwaukee area.  We do have a SA 8300 already, and have decided that we're not using the 2nd DVR nearly enough to justify the additional $15 a month.

Anyone know what's being offered for this now and what outputs it has?  Cable Card is not an option.

Thanks!

What are you looking for specifically?. Besides having mistro or passport I don't really see all too much ad difference in the other units besides size.

Well, I was looking for a decent 2nd HD receiver that had more if not all of the output options activated.  Today we traded in the ol' DVR and got a Pace HD receiver (think it was Pace).  Lots of outputs, looked promising!  Didn't work.  After a call to tech support, determined it was a dead unit, and it was then off to Mayfair for an exchange.  Got a Pioneer BD-V3500 there.  Bigger, less outputs, not as nice IMO, but it worked.  Just using the SVideo out for now to a standard TV, some kind of LCD in the future there soon.  I mean, you pay $6 a month to rent a non-HD box, pay the extra buck and get the HD.

So, now to find the biggest HD set that will fit in our space-- 30.5" wide.  Let the fun begin!

Adding a thought to this thread, it is my understanding that this particular HD unit does have the firewire output activated as required by law, you can plug this tuner into a computer and still record the output.
