The league has moved this Sunday's Packers Bears season finale from a noon start to prime time! It will be the NBC Sunday night game. 7:15 Kickoff...

Bad news if you have New Year's Eve plans, but great news if you prefer NBC's 1080i to Fox's 720p.

Actually, is it good or bad news for us depends on NYG and Rams games:)

Ralph Kramden

I hate waiting all day for the game. GO BEARS !!!!

Ha! No sympathy from us.. after Sunday night's game, you'll only have to wait a week to see your team play again. Most likely, the rest of us will have to wait 8 months to see OUR team play again. ;)

Id rather the game be in the morning...

Sunday morning there will still be a one in a gazillion chance the packers might make the playoffs...  So the game against the Bears might actually mean something...

Sunday night we will probably know for sure that the packers aren't in the playoffs, and the Bears already have home field, so that makes the game meaningless to watch for either fan base...

Ralph Kramden

It wont be meaningless for this Bears fan.

I don't suppose channel 4 will can the weather plus for three hours and give us full bitrate 1080i.  Has anyone heard anything about this?

Are you kidding, not only that there is a threat of snow New Years Eve...so they'll steal 40% of the screen for weather updates and derez it 480i.

I am glad I will have a feed of NBC HD from Chicago as a backup:)

I was thinking the same thing about the weather:eek:

I actually prefer Fox's 720p over either CBS's or especially NBC's 1080i for any sports.

And that's OTA or D*.

Correction. 2 Weeks!!  The Bears get a bye the first week of the playoffs.

Tom Snyder

I stand corrected!

Conventional wisdom says that a team with a bye and home field will rest their first stringers to avoid injury. But I'm thinking the Bears hate the Pack so much they'll be willing to risk an injury or two to keep them out of the playoffs!

Not because they hate the Packers, but the Bears starters will play a little more than half the game Sunday.  They rested starters last year, then lost the 1st game to Carolina.  And there is a very good chance that by kickoff, all playoff chances for the Packers are gone.

I would take Fox or ABC HD 720p any day for sports over NBC HD here in milwaukee.  It looks like garbage on my LCD.  HDnet and INHD sports in 1080i look great though.

They lost last year not because they rested their starters, rather they were beat by a better team in the Panthers because they didn't have an answer for Steve Smith.  This year if/when they lose it will most likely be for the simple fact their offense is pathetic.  If they can even get an average performance out of Grossman and the offense they should be the team to beat in the NFC, although Philly is coming together right now too.  That is why the NFL is so much fun.  Personally I hope the Bears lose in their first game as I am surrounded at my Waukesha home on three sides by Illinois/Bear transplants.  I don't think I can handle a successful Bears playoff run much less a Superbowl appearance, or God forbid victory.:bang: :bang: :bang:
Oh well, I hope the game means something to the packers come sunday night, but I'll be watching either way.
