Has anyone bought a new projection tv bulb lately?   I am in the market to buy a new Sony XL-2100 bulb.  I can buy the bulb locally for $200 but have found some places on the Internet for $150.  Do I take the chance and try and save the $50. ?

As long as they are OEM and not after market.  Shipping is going to happen whether you buy locally or via the Internet so I wouldn't worry about it being jostled.

I recently bought the same bulb ... I could not find someone locally who had it in stock. Found a place on eBay for ~$160, but had overnight shipping for almost $50. So paid for the overnight, thinking I am paying a little more, but would have it during the World Series. Turns out they shipped next day, but took a few days to get it packed. Missed 2 World Series games ...

So, they shipped what I wanted, overnight as I paid, but I feel I got ripped off because it took so long for them to get to FedEx.

I can look up the actual $ paid and company name if interested at home later ...
