Anyone know if TWC will ever carry the NFL Network?   With the NFL channel getting real LIVE broadcast rights to several games later in the eyar it would be nice if we'd get it...  is it only DirecTV, or do some cable companies carry the NFL Network as well?

AndrewP

Dish Network has it. DirecTV doesn't have NFLHD, but it will carry games on a special HD channel.

Sparkman87

We have it here on Comcast.  Most of the HD Games of the Week have been on, knocking INHD off.  However, if INHD has a live Vs HD Hockey game at the same time, our system has been sticking with the hockey game & we miss the HD replays.

QuoteTime Warner had yet to decide its plans.

QuoteMaureen Huff, a spokeswoman for Time Warner Cable, said Tuesday: "We just got this proposal and we are looking into it."

While being a D* customer, I have many family and friends with TWC,

My question is... What are you looking into?

No Brainer as far as I'm concerned.

jrowland96

Yep, no brainer, because they're giving it to the cable company to show for free...  Nothing out of TWCs pockect...

EXCEPT....

I'm sure TWC doesn't want it's subscribers to see what they're missing, if they have  no future intentions (my guess) of paying the NFL to carry the channel as a permanent channel...

That's TWC for you, no brains!  Then they have the nerve to increase their basic cable and digital cable fees another $2.

I have D* and while it's nice to have the NFL Network for no charge now, I heard a rumour that the only reason D* got the deal from the NFL was because of the Sunday Ticket contract and in the near future, D* would have to pay the NFL the same price that the NFL is trying to get from TWC so it might not be free in the future.
I feel for everyone in Wisc. that's not in the Milwaukee and Green Bay markets that won't even get the Packer game on 12/21 from their locals. It's a new day when your local team isn't carried for free.

Anyone else notice that channel 32, that they just moved GOLF to recently is now "Time Warner Sports".  Any ideas what this is or why they moved GOLF so soon after moving it?  Not that I care, I don't watch GOLF, I'm just wondering if this is the planned spot for NFL Network if the deal goes thru.

Sounds plausible to me. Where did they move golf to, the sports tier by espnnews, nbatv, etc.?

I'm looking at the new list that came with the last bill and it shows channel 32 is Time Warner Sports as of 12/28/06, after perusing the whole guide it looks the Golf Channel is History.

Just like TWC add something of their own that no-one watches and dump a channel that customers actually want.  I know an old employee of mine who still sells TV at my old store is going crazy today as he always has the golf channel on one of the TV's as he's a fanatic.

training camp bump - Anyone heard anything recently??

picopir8

Nope, but...
Dish has NFLHD
U-verse has NFLHD
DirecTV will likely get it later this year.
TWC is still a big question mark as far as I know.

Ahhh here we are again. Just a week away from Pre-Season and what has TWC done? Nothing. Not only does almost every other carrier have NFL Network, they are carrying it in HD......  The TW Sports channel, are you kidding me? It is cool, I can see some local sports etc but TW, get real its time for the biggest sport int he nation to gear up and you are leaving your customers empty screened.. You are telling us you are the only carrier in the country unable to hash out a deal?
