I just got my HD70 up and running yesterday and had it on about 2 hours. How long should you leave it on in one crack? How long do you give it before turning it off for a little while to give it a break?

I'm waiting for your review of that baby, by the way. I'm very interested in the HD70 also. There's a lot of people at Avsforum that say it's very hard to get the colors to look right on it.  I'd have no problem leaving it on for at least 4 hours at a time. That's what the fan is for, to cool the bulb. Unless your owner's manual says something different. All projectors are designed to shut down or give you a warning light if it gets too hot.

Based on all of the reading that I had done on projectors back when I was using my X1, I never ran my projector less than two hours.  I also would wait at least two hours after turning it off before turning it back on again.

As far as total time goes, I know that I had run it for at least 14 hours without a problem.  I think I had at least 1500 hours on the original bulb when I stopped using it.
