Is there such thing as a cheap HDMI switching surround receiver that outputs and upconverts all video through HDMI?  At one point I knew JVC had the cheapest ones, but I heard bad reviews.  I know, I know.. you get what you pay for.. but I'm just wondering if there are any out there that are fairly inexpensive as far as receivers.

I bought 5X1 HDMI switcher from Monoprice for $135. Works great.
If you will need Toslink/Coax audio switch, I can recommend Inday DA4X-R 4X1 Digital Audio Switcher ($109).

Don't know what you consider cheap.

Take a look at the Onkyo TX-SR674.  MSRP is $699, but can be found for ~$500.

I'm looking for something that outputs composite, s-video and component to HDMI and something that has a couple of HDMI inputs.  Also looking for the surround to be built in rather than getting a simple processor/upconverter.

Cheap I'd say for this kind of product... probably $500 or less.  I'll take a look.. thanks for the suggestions.

That's exaclty the Onkyo TX-SR674.

Both of the Onkyos I saw with HDMI didn't upconvert the other inputs.. you still have to plug composite, component and s-vid into the TV.

The the Onkyo TX-SR674 upconverts composite, component, and s-vid.  The TX-SR600 only upconverts component.

Ah, ok.  Maybe because the manuals are combined, I didn't see that.  Thanks.
