Quote from: Will;37099Are they also required to send Closed Caption data over Digital OTA?  I have never been able to get CC on 58-1.

I haven't seen their program guide info in over a month also...

The captioning requirement kicked in last January of '06.

Quote from: Blitzburgh;37088This is OTA not satellite. DTV does not broadcast CBS58 HD over satellite yet.

From what I understand DirecTV sends you the guide data for your OTA stations too.  Do you have one program guide that shows both DirecTV and OTA stations in the same guide?

OTA Guide Data update.

Checked 58-1 OTA  last night and bingo, the guide data was there.   I hope it sticks around for awhile.

As to the "running out" of guide data, what would you look for on a HD reciever spec sheet to tell you it "searches" for OTA Guide data even if you haven't watched certain channels for a few days.  That would be nice.

I doubt you would find that in a spec sheet but it would be a good option to list if the receiver was capable of it.

Ya I get 58's guide once in a great while also.  More NOT than often.  Would be nice to have it on a regular basis, but I'm not going to hold my {fart} .

The guide lasted the usual day or two before it disintegrated.  I'm guessing their equipment is not automated, or if it is, it is malfunctioning.

Yea, I noticed it as well and it's annoying.  Has 58 given any explanation for this or better yet give us some hope that they're working on this problem?

StarvingForHDTV

No, 58-1 has not acknowledged the problem as far as I know.

I think their engineer (Dan Dyer?) is a member of this forum.  Maybe he will read this thread at some point.  I have heard that Jim Hall reads the forum also.
