CBS 58-1 has been missing their OTA program guide data for weeks.  If Dan Dyer is around, please check in to this.

Thanks in advance.

Will

Also, there is no Closed Captioning on the DTV feed, but there is on the SD feed.

Thanks.

The guide data is gone again.  I wonder what causes it to go away?

Odd. I have it here.

Do you use satellite for guide data, or OTA only?

I also do not have a guide for CBS 58 OTA. Signal quality is good and strong, but no guide.
It's been going on for a while now and I did see it come back briefly last month.

I'm bumping this thread because I almost never get the 58-1 OTA guide and was beginning to think it was my equipment.  Anybody heard anything from CBS about fixing this?

In addition, I have the D* HD reciever and have found that once I turn off the reciever and turn it back on, all the HD OTA programming guide data dissappears until I actually switch to each of the channels and then they pop back up.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there anything I can do to eliminate it?

Thanks

Richard

I thought the FCC requires stations to send out guide data with their signals.  I'm guessing that they don't enforce the rule.  Why make the rule in the first place if you aren't going to enforce it?

I also do not get the CBS guide OTA.  It is rare that it is on at all.  It was on for a while (maybe one day) last month but hasn't been on since.

Digital OTA Broadcasters are required to send out a minimum of 12 hours of EPG (Electronic Program Guide).  Since each station sends out their own guide data most set-top boxes will "run out" of information if the channel hasn't been accessed in a while. In order to update the information you need to tune to that channel. Some tuners/receivers will "hunt" and keep the list current when they are turned off.
So yes, it is a common annoyance.

I have never had a guide data problem with CBS 58-1 through my HR20-700S

Probably because you are getting your program information from DirecTV not 58-1  This problem should not effect people who pay monthly fees to watch television.

This is OTA not satellite. DTV does not broadcast CBS58 HD over satellite yet.

Are they also required to send Closed Caption data over Digital OTA?  I have never been able to get CC on 58-1.

I haven't seen their program guide info in over a month also...
