Cable companies and satellite providers should remember that eventually, FIOS and Lightspeed will eventally appear to cause them pain.

I have personally experienced FIOS and found it excellent for HDTV delivery.
All the talk and reports like this of what the cable companies want to do is fine...just shows you that competition is a great thing.

BTW, in the areas where FIOS took hold, the cable company (BHN) got more attentive, added features and so on...another advantage. :D

Great article.  It's great to hear that cable companies are actually actively addressing ways to add HD content.  Let's hope it comes to fruition!
