It's been getting worse and worse. We all know it's a local problem that Fox 6 doesn't feel like fixing or acknowledging.

Thanks guys. Anyone else using BeyondTV? I decided I wanted to record HD but didn't want to lease a box from D* for $400 so I bought a High def tuner and through together a PVR from and old computer. I works pretty well but I was watching 24 this morning and it was hard to watch.

I have BTV4 on my box with Windows Media Center. It's really hard to get a good picture with it.
Check out this thread on the Snapstream (BTV) forum, it has some suggestions that worked for me:

Also, change the quartz.dll file in Windows. The current one is flawed. There's a link to a replacement in this forum thread:
quartz.zip

I found two versions of that file and had to replace them both, it kept reverting back to the faulty one. Some recommend booting into safe mode to do it.

Also, your choice of deinterlaceing method and/or 3-D or overlay mode will make a big difference.
I'm using the ATI/Cyberlink decoder, 3-D Accelerated Video Renderer and hardware deinterlacing.
Then, in the ATI control panal I selected BOB deinterlacing.
Your results may vary, you'll have to try them all.

Good luck!

Thanks Paul. I did try the quartz.dll trick and a few other things. The box is working decent but hopefully with a few tweaks she'll be good.

UNACCEPTABLE AND UNWATCHABLE tonight. This is as bad as it has ever been. The momentary  yet continual stuttering continues as I watch the FOX 10:00 news. My signal is at 94 strength so I know it is not me, and since I am having problems with the local news...leads me to think it is NOT the network but our own  little local station having serious issues......
COME ON FOX.................FIX THE DAMN PROBLEM

I don't know what's wrong, but the problem is getting worst.

They only have one more week left. I hope thing will be more bearable for the season finales.

Same here, Pixelating, sound drop outs, complete loss of picture and sound, freezing,

I switched to Fox 5 out of New york a few minutes into idol and did not have more problems thru Idol and House.

Signal strength for OTA Fox6... 98!!!

Shesh

I've been having the same problem OTA with Fox 6 - capturing "24" on HDTIvo has been maddening, as the hiccups drive me crazy.

I finally changed my TIVO to the Fox network feed.  I can't believe that FOX hasn't fixed the problem after all these months....

I have a consistent 90+ signal strength... but I was worried it was the HD Tivo - based on people's comments here, I would guess that it is on FOX's end...

I rarely if ever watch FOX6, but last night it was (PM and I wanted to watch the news so I flipped it on. It was pretty bad. Pixelation, audio hiccups but I didn't see any freezing.

OTA less than 5 miles from the transmitter.

LoadStar

There was one hiccup that I saw tonight... believe it was very early on during Bones. Same M.O. - picture and audio freeze for a moment, then both stutter once and resume.

Has anyone contacted FOX 6?

Steve Mann

I didn't notice any problems last night in the two hour '24' finale. Hopefully, they have the situation finally under control?

Me too.  I think the only "hiccup" I had was quick and during a commercial.  Now that 24 is over I won't be noticing any problems with their signal until next January anyway though...unless Fox comes up with something interesting for the Fall season.

I haven't watched anything on FOX (except an occasional newscast) since they cancelled Reunion.

I had lots of break ups last night during the 24 finale.  Since I seem to be the only one, it must be a problem with my set up.
