I only got it after I did a rescan.  This should be a sticky, until we know what it's for.  I'm guessing weather.  

I hope we doesn't cause too much of a bit-rate drain off of 4-1.

The weather subchannel trashed NBC's ND football games in all markets based on comparisons to non-multicast and Universal HD re-broadcasts. This is not good news and deserves a  :mad: icon'd sticky of its own.

UUURRRGHHHH!
We DO NOT NEED multi-casting. All it does it take away from any type of pristine HD channel. Please tell me that WTMJ is not going to multicast the Olympics instead of HD or some crazy stupid thing like that....

Agreed.  We've already got three channel 10 subchannels for that.  why does TMJ need to do it too?

If it's just for weather they could get away with a bitrate as low as 2mbps... lets hope they make the right decision and don't do any multicasting... but if they do, anything over 3mbps is just a waste.

I did a rescan on my HR10-250 last night and there is no 4-2 on my reciever.  It did come up with 24-2 though which turned out to be the same as 21-1 (but had a different PSIP name).  That was surprising.

What really bothers me is why does channel 10 feel the need to have 3! weather channels, and why does CBS have 3 unused subchannels (58-3 to 58-5).  I know they don't take up any space but it just seems messy to me...
