They didn't lie.  The letter clearly states on OR about August 22nd.

Jimboy

More than likely the letter is the stations "medical notification" to indicate their intention to operate a DTV station on channel 33. This is required by the FCC. They have indicated August 22nd - this should allow anyone using that frequency to vacate it before they go full power. I'm sure there are still some other circumstances they have to resolve.

Interference can be avoided by appropriate planning and exchange of information. The FCC has taken a number of steps to facilitate this process. At the FCC's request, broadcast industry representatives have asked TV stations to contact local health care facilities and inform them of their plans to initiate DTV service. The Commission will also request information from broadcasters to ensure that they have coordinated with health care facilities before beginning their DTV operation.

QuoteYes Tom, the from would be at the bottom of the letter above.

Hey.. I'm really not going blind!

I started writing my post before the letter was posted,  and the letter was posted before I hit submit.

So do we know if this has happened or if it is pending in the next few days? If we have actual confirmation I can begin the antenna moving and rescanning :)

Well I am in the city of Milwaukee (edge of 'tosa on capitol drive) and I have an antenna on my roof with the amazing signal strength of ... 21/100.  My hope is they haven't gone full power yet, or I'm just sol here.

/me anxiously waits, semi-paitently.

It's been (correction) at least 3 years since I bought this HDTV card so I could record 24.  I'd like to at least get ONE season of the series before it's cancelled.

I called the number on the letter and the assistant said full power could be as early as this weekend.  It's like when your going up the first big hill on a roller-coaster and your about to go over the edge....that feeling.
It's anytime now!!!!!

Fox 6 (33-1) has a he-man signal of -94- in Mequon for football tonight.
Hooray!!!!

Jaxxos

I guess it is official I checked FOX tonight and way out in Palmyra I am pulling in 91% signal, too bad the Pack isn't in HD on NBC tonight.

COMET

Up here in West Bend, finally FOX HD has arrived. All I have is what Directv suppiles you when you upgrade to the HD package. Now with my HD tivo deal I got from BB, I am ready for some football. Too bad the Packers don't look like they are.

kevbeck122

I'm getting it with my rabbit ears now with ~75% signal.

larsob

YES!!! 90% in Sheboygan

WITI has a big signal in Howards Grove.  The signal right up with WTMJ, WISN, and WDJT.  Good job 6 and thanks.

Guess there is no need for me to keep an eye on this bulletin board anymore! ;) Out of the FOX stations going now, looks like WITI was the second, first being KTBC, Austin a few weeks back.

Enjoy your FOX HD!
