:) Where is the new tower for 6 (6-1) located and when they go to high power will there be interference with any other stations? I live in Brown Deer (about 1/2 mile from TV 6) and will that have any effect on reception. One final question is that whether an amplifier like the ones they sell at Radio Shack help with signal strength?

You live 1/2 mile from their studios, not the transmitter.  The HD feed originates from the same tower as the existing analog.  Signal strength does not mean better signal quality.  In Brown Deer you should have no problems picking up the local HD's without an amp... and if I needed an amp, RS would be the last place I would look.

I think part of my problem is where I live the OTA had to be put in a place where it is somewhat bocked (the roof is higher in the middle).  Where would you reccomend I get an amp if needed and what kind??

The bigger question is what type of antenna are you using and where is it located
amps do nothing more than amp what they get, so as the old saying goes
garbage in garbage out!

They are simply meant to over come line loses and signal splitting.

I would hold of on the amp and wait for 6 to go full power. it is looking like it will be soon.

after they go full power, no outdoor antenna in the metro area should require an amp for local reception.
