Hello:

I have a 16x9 LG HD Plasma TV.  Just hooked up the HD from TWC in Pewaukee WI.  I have the explorer 8300HD box.  All is well with everything except the channel guide.  For some reason this will not stretch to fill the entire screen.  No matter what I try there are always grey bars showing up on each side of the channel guide.  Does any one know how to fix this?

Gregg Lengling

It's not fixable, it is hard coded to do a 4x3 display when in this mode.

that sucks... any word on twc changing this to accomodate people with 16x9 tv's?

No. As Gregg mentioned, it's a hardware limitaton.  It would have been nice to get another hour's worth of viewing in the guide at 16x9... :(

Recently my channel guide stopped scrolling from side to side the way it used it.  If I hold down the "scroll right" button, the display pauses on the current time instead of visibly scrolling to show future times.  When I release the button, it quickly changes to several hours later.  The function is working, but it doesn't show it working, which makes it kind of hard to see what day and time you're on.  I used to be able to see the fast-scroll but now see a pause. A reboot of the box didn't fix things. It's not a huge deal, but kind of an annoyance.

I've seen the same thing when scrolling DOWN the preview guide. I used to be able to hold the page key down and see the pages flip by and know generally where I am. Now if I hold it the display freezes a page or two from the start. If I let it go it pops down to a hundred channels or more down the list.

Any one else notice that? I'd say it's happening the last 4 weeks or so.
