CBS 46 + HDNet + Closed Captioning

Here's a strange. I was watching CBS 46 running HDNet from 6 to 6:30. Blue Oyster Cult was in concert. The phone rang so I muted the TV and lo and behold the closed captions from the CBS 58 feed appeared on the screen. Didn't know the closed captions were independant of picture.

On Digital everything can be separate, it's all a matter of feeding it to the encoder.  They probably just feed the CBS/Local captioning all the time to 1-1 data stream and nobody thought about the HDNET feed
