Well, I decided to pre-order one. The feature benefits over the LG-3410A are just too much to pass up. It's a bit more money, but to me it's worth it.

So far the release date is holding steady at 5/21. I'll let you know how it works when I get it.

Anyone else considering this one?

Apart from CableCard, what features do you think are lacking in the 3410A?

Personally, since the lockdown means I can't archive CableCard sourced recordings to my D-VHS it doesn't seem that big a splash to me for the extra $300.  I'll probably end up putting that cash towards a set that has firewire and CableCard built-in.

Cable card slot helps, but it's not a feature I was thinking of.  The ability to record TV while watching another previously recorded show is a big one for me. Simultaneous output from HD and SD jacks is another.

Just received an email from Sony.  My DHG-HDD250 just shipped via Fedex. I'll give you all a report when I get it hooked up and working.
