Every so often (few minutes maybe), the picture stops, gets jarbled and starts back up between 5 and 10 seconds later.  It seems to keep doing this on and off tonight.  Anyone else having this problem?  I narrowed it down to these two channels since it doesn't seem to happen on any of the others for me.

Only on TWC, there seems to be problems with both them and the InHD channels the last week or so.

Guess I haven't been watching InHD enough to notice.

HDNET was doing it-you're not alone...on TWC at least.

Maybe these HD-Package-Channels are being worked on to add another one like Universal HD or ESPNHD2 (hopefully both).  :)

Hey, we can dream, can't we?

While watching Extreme Measures tonight and having this problem pop up a lot, I decided to call TWC about it.  Waited 45 minutes just to get someone .  She had me do the reboot, and of course everything's fine now... couldn't recreate the problem.  I don't think that was the issue though because my box seems to reboot everytime I turn my TV off.  Just for the heck of it, I also asked about plans for new HD channels and she told me there weren't any plans as of now :(

edit: Well, looks like it's still there.  I'm not about to wait another 45 minutes though.

I had HDNET and HDNET Movies video and sound "freeze up", too, as if I had the DVR put on "pause", then it continues to play, but it locks up again...UGH!

IF TWC is NOT adding anymore HD channel to our HD Package lineup,
why the problem for only these channels?

So far my HBO and Showtime HD channels are fine, for now.

Maybe we ask for a DISCOUNT on our HD packages.  if this keeps up! :D

Apparently my signal is low, so I get a free service call on Friday.  I'm not sure why it would only affect those two channels though.  I'll report back to let you all know what happens.

My trio of cable box installers* that came last week to exchange my other 8000HD boxes said my signal strength to my installed boxes was good.

How could it change that fast in a about a week?

I think these folks are guessing at this...though with you, maybe possible..
how come I have the very same problem? :(

*The trio of installers came because one had to install since themas both were having trouble getting the HD package to work, the second guy to bring the second box and (he brought the wrong box) and the third to get the right one. :)

We still have the original cable as far as I know on the outside... probably from the 80s or early 90s, whenever my parents got cable.  On the inside, the cable goes to a ground block, then to a splitter going to the modem and to a RadioShack signal booster.  The booster outputs to all four TVs in the house (one SD TWC box, one HD TWC box and two cable ready TVs).  I'm not sure if that booster would be causing anything, or if it's the old cable.  We were going to have TWC put new cable in and have it buried when new siding is put up so if that's the problem, I'm stuck with this issue for awhile.

TWC didn't seem to take into consideration that others are having this issue.

Oh well... hopefully I'll know something on Friday.

Nor the fact you have a Radio Shack amp.  IMO, not designed to handle 750 MHz of power.  Dump it.

To give these guys some credit at TWC, diagnosing a problem is not that easy. It may be true that many people are having the same symptoms, but not necessarily the same problem.

There are so many variables in this equation. You may have a faulty Radio Shack amp, but someone else may have a bad connecter, or a poorly shielded cable, or a power leak back into the system from a short in a remote TV. There could be a bad box or hard drive or any number of other causes.

One time I had a problem where all channels worked just fine except 315 and 316. Very strange. They replaced the coax and all was fixed. Why did bad cable only affect those two channels, who knows?

The point is, there is no conspiracy at TWC headquarters to hide some huge secrete about one issue they don't want to fix. It is just very difficult to get all this new technology working properly into 100% of the homes. It may take some trial and error to get it right.

It's not like the good old days of analog. Throw in a cable and all should work. Currently, all my services are running perfectly, but it did not start out that way. They have been out here many times and done a lot of work.

Any time I think about switching to cable I read these threads and it changes my mind.

I don't know, I've seen some pretty nasty satellite and OTA threads. Fox 6 ring a bell? I think we all have issues to work through in this new world of high tech and HDTV.

I have no problems with OTA and Sat. People who have problems with OTA live in BFE. It's logical that they are having problems with signals. As far as Sat, what nasty threads?
