HD locals beginning

I live in belgium, just north of port washington and I noticed extra channels popping up on my program guide. It appears as D* has added some local digital channels. So basicly it shows two seperate 4-1,12-1,etc... One that I get from my OTA and one from D*

The channels are not active as of last night but it's good to see that I am possibly going to be one of the lucky to recieve HD digital locals from a D* feed. Anyone else notice this or know about this, chime in.

hmm.. I don't know what you are seeing. The channels won't be going up until after June, and even then it will only be the top 12 markets in the country (Milwaukee is 33). It has been confirmed that the channels won't start out as MPEG4 but that to receive them you will need one of the new MPEG4 receivers and a new dish.

So you might just be seeing a glitch or something. No boxes as they exist will be qualified/capable to receive the new LIL HD channels and even after those boxes ship Milwaukee won't see the locals until 2007 (IIRC)

Yeah I haven't seen anything like that on my guide through my D* H10 HD receiver??? Must be a glitch...

I guess I am seeing two 4-1's and two 12-1's and two 18-1's and two 24-1's and two 58-1's in my sleep then. I see what I see and was wondering if anyone else has seen this. If not fine.

Is this on your Sony? Where are you seeing a 4-1 as a DTV channel? In the guide?  Or in a menu option? Is this a separate channel beside the regular 4?

My cousin was asking me the other day why she was getting a 4-1, 6-1 etc.... on her DirecTV guide...So I guess this is happening to certain people? I haven't seen it on any of my 3 receivers, besides my H-10 but that is in the guide through my antenna...Wierd?

It may just be a software glitch in the box.  Check your menu and see when the last time that D* did an update to your box???

The sats. to provide us with HD local in local channels are not even scheduled to be launched until sometime late spring / summer.   The Milwaukee market is most likely looking at being in the second group of cities in the local HD rollout for D*.  The first group of cities is ontrack for late summer / fall.
