How does one go about measuring the strength of the OTA signal at my apartment location in Grafton?

Can a meter be rented?  Are there services for hire that will come do this?  Can a meter be purchased that won't cost an arm and a leg?  Does some kind soul have one that I could borrow?

I'd hate to buy an STB and an antenna (which has to be an indoor antenna) only to find out that the signal is too weak where I'm located.

Thanks for the info.

Decoders have built in signal meeters.   Most electronics stores have 30 day return policies so I would just buy a box then return it if it does not work to your satisfaction.  As far as antennas go, there are two that work better than the rest; the radio shack double bowtie for around $20 (only available online) and the silver sensor for around $50.  I would go with the RS antenna, that way if it does not work out you are only out $20 (and you could probably sell it for at least $10 on ebay).

I would suspect that you should have no problem picking everything up except perhaps for Fox.
