Channels 88/89?

Does anyone have access to FOXE channel 88 or FOXW channel 89? If so, how did you get it and how long did it take? I applied for a waiver yesterday via DirectTV and didn't get a good feeling that this was a very viable option, particulary for Super Bowl viewing. With 6-1 as low-power and shaky as it has been, I'd like to have a backup plan.

You don't need a waiver, being in West Bend you are in the viewing market for WITI FOX 6 (digital 33) and they are Owned and Operated by Fox and you should be receiving channel 88.  Call them back and fight you should be receiving 88, I have since day 1 when they put it on the air.

Greg is absolutely correct.  Call them, you should be receiving it.  I have been getting  88 FoxE since it came on as well.  If you can't get it from them ask to speak to someone who knows in the "HD" area.

I called the other day about a question and they transferred me to an HD specialist, who by the way really new his stuff re: DMA's, # of HD channels per transponder, rules regarding waivers etc.  I was really quite impressed with them.

Also a note.  I believe whoever you were talking to didn't know what was going on because as far as I know.  There are no more waivers available.  ie: you can't even apply for them due to a very recent law passed or something done by the FCC.  Maybe someone else can clarify that.

I guess it's a question of who you talk to, but as soon as I explained that I was in the metro Milwaukee area, and Ch 6-1 was a no-go, I got ch. 88 right away, which is the East coast feed.  That's good enough for the Super Bowl.

Oh, I already have the HD package from D*, of course.

I think I'll Tivo the whole mess, just to show off to friends.  (When you're on top, rub it in!)

I had to talk to 5 RSA's to finally get it turned on.  Make sure you talk to an "HD" rep and not one of the little peons.  Keep hammering that Fox 6 is O&O by Fox and therefore you a eligable to receive channel 88.
