Just wondering if Santa will delivering any new HD channels to TWC anytime soon. ESPN2HD comes to mind since they are suppose to debut next month. Any others?

My TWC HD channel "wishlist" includes:

 1)  Universal HD Channel-com'on TWC-add it to the HD Package!
(so I don't have to go to my neighbour's house to watch it).
:)

  2) Cinemax HD (you are the part of the parent company, right?)

:D

   3) Starz! HD
(so I can convince my spouse that the increase in TWC pricing from $8.95/month to the now $10/month is justified in keeping it for subscription.)

    4) Whatever else Voom has/had like Encore HD, TMC HD
---at least the east coast feeds.

    5) The battle ending between Sinclair Broadcast Group so we can get the WB HD and (soon) the UPN HD feeds on TWC.

How about these on Santa's list, too??

FiberOptic

Let me add my favorite battle cry, so I don't miss my Cubs next year

Comcast Sports Net and how about all the Chicago stations in HD also

gp-  That was more of a laundry list than a wish list!:D

Merry Christmas everyone!

I was hoping TWC Santa could surprise us HD Package and/or Premium subscribers with at least:

Universal HD  Channel and the Cinemax HD and Starz! HD channels....:)

There:a smaller TWC HD Channel Wish List-just wanted to make it more interesting and make our feelings known that they haven't gone away after being silent for awhile...more on the list, more of a surprise...right?

Surprise us with at least a couple new HD channels,
hopefully something else besides ESPN-HD2
 (no offence intended).;)

Sorry to bring you down to reality just before the holiday, but there are no plans that I am aware of regarding any new HD services this year.
I personally think Universal would be a good next addition.

Thank you, mhz40 for your honest and candid reply.:D
There are no contracts pending for NBC/Universal with Time Warner carriage, so the Universal HD Channel is still a no-go...based on what I have read and feel, but that is just me.

I know that TWC is going to add more HD channels in 2005 to remain competitive with the satellite additions, but if I had to bet it would probably be the ESPN-HD 2 due the more recent contract signing to bring on ESPN-HD (assumption) and the Cinemax HD channel, sooner than later, it being a unit of the parent company.

mhz40 cannot say anything at this time as these more inportant HD channel-adding decisions that involve Time Warner corporate on a national scale, rather than on a local scale.
Once one regional area of TWC gets something, the others follow eventually, if the past is any indication.

Snard: Sinclair Broadcast Group owns and operates many stations throughout the country and has created a roadblock for payment to get TWC to add its HD stations' signals to their lineups like Milwaukee's WB-HD and (soon) UPN-HD.
IMHO, we will probably have to get Directv HD locals to get them before TWC gets them to their subscriber base.

There is no channel called Chicagoland HD.  Did you mean Comcast SportsNet Chicago HD or CLTV?  CLTV does not offer HD and CSN-C is only in HD when either the Bulls, Cubs or Sox are playing a home game.  If you're not in their home territory, it would be blacked out anyway.  ESPN2-HD would probably offer much more HD programming for you than CSN-C.

I think ESPN-HD is the most boring HD channel in the entire TWC lineup. I can wait for ESPN-HD 2 forever.

That was just a wishful thinking on my part.

I switched from TWC to Directv a year ago - love Tivo, miss HDTV.  I would go back to TWC in a heartbeat if they carried WB in HD - their analog picture is horrible, and we watch too many shows on 18 to suffer through this.

Every time I do my channel-hopping from 500-548, I find channel 530 in a sidebar mode, unless it is "SportCenter"...what a waste of bandwidth!

Why doesn't TWC add Universal HD or Cinemax HD or Starz! HD, something I can really watch instead of Disney's version of sports in what little HD there is on ONE channel, much less TWO...!:D

The reason is two-fold: Sinclair AND TWC!

Directv is giving you the analogue channel 18,  not the HD version, unless you have an OTA antenna for use, but then you cannot record it unless you spend money on the HD Tivo-maybe you don't time-shift.

Sinclair Broadcast Group demands payment for use of its HD signal for cable use on all its stations, not just Milwaukee's.
TWC does not do this as it would set a precident for all of its HD locals and thus pass the cost to its cable customers, as any business does with pricing. Until a must-carry rule forces the digital channel (with its HD material) onto TWC's systems, it won't have to happen.
I do notice a show I do like on WB18 that repeats on TNT-HD later on it the week and use my HD DVR to find it and record it.

As for the horrible WB18 on TWC, what I have seen with some of the highly-compressed Directv analogue channel offerings "digitally delivered" such as the Sci-Fi and USA channels at friends's houses, including WB18 and UPN24 on their 60"+ sets, forget it...not much difference, IMO (and I got my eyes checked recently)...and then I would have no HD DVR unless I bought one if I switched to Directv:D
