D-ILA/DLP/LCD comparison

I went to the new Fox Point Best Buy store to check it out.  I ended up taking a look at the D-ILA RPTV from JVC and comparing it to the DLP and LCD RPTVs nearby.  I think I like the LCoS the best.  It's hard to say for sure which is better in that environment, but I felt that if I were in the market today I would go with D-ILA.

Have other people had similar feelings when comparing the three technologies?

I'm looking forward to the 1080p products.  At that point I'll probably dump my CRT RPTV and upgrade to fixed pixel technology.  Unless flat panel plasmas or LCDs are competitively priced by then....  I'll be in the market for about a 70" display.

Is that the 46/47" one?  I saw that at Colders but they didn't have a single piece of info on the set, they'd just gotten it in.

If you are talking about the Samsung, I found 46", 50" 56" and 61", from what I was told they all have the same stuff built into them.  Just make sure if you go with the samsung, make sure it is one of the 3rd or 4th generation one.  Sears had an old model on the floor

All right, I'll check it out.  Thanks for the tip.  I have been meaning to get over to that store anyway.

I know LG makes a 71" plasma.  I wonder if LCD will ever make it that big?  Technology sometimes amazes me.

I remember when I bought my 53" HDTV I thought it was huge.  I was coming from a 27" antique.  Soon that size became normal to me.  I know you went with a bigger set Gregg.  I plan to go that route too.

Ahmmmm 1080p ahhhmmm (drooling)

102" 1080p Plasma.  WOW

I do have a fear about the glass on Plasmas.  I will never buy another display with a reflective surface.  Even if it is a 102" 1080p Plasma.....

When I was at Best Buy, most of the fixed pixel RPTVs had real non-glare screens.  Mitsubishi made one with the shiny glass.  Yikes, that brings back bad memories.  I wonder why they still make those?

Thanks for the link.
