Isn't NBC-TV carrying the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade?

If so that means WTMJ-TV, ch. 4 or should say their DTV tranmitter will be airing it in HD.

Yes NBC is still airing the parade,

but don't know about HDTV on NBC

That sucks!!!  You would think VOOM would share their feed with NBC-TV.  Even now with tonight's Packer Game ESPN-HD should share their feed with WISN so that WISN-TV could air it in HD as well.  Network and cable TV stations never used to be soo picky.  But they are, and I can see problems ahead.

I can understand why VOOM would not be willing to share the HD feed.  It costs money to do an event in HD.  Also, VOOM is trying to build it's reputation as the leader in HD content.  If everybody can watch it's programming by other means, there isn't a compelling reason to pay VOOM for service.

As far as I understand ESPN-HD is part of an extra fee package for cable and satellite subscribers.  If they start giving away the programming for free to ABC, the ESPN-HD paying customers will start to wonder what they are paying for.

I understand that you want to watch these things in HD.  I do too.  If you really want to see them, you will have to pay up.
