I was at the Best Buy store this weekend and saw the RCA 61" DLP set HD61THW263 and thought it was awesome.:D

At first, I looked at it standing on the floor and was wowed by its clear picture, deep greens and great contrast.
Then I looked at its screen size, noted it was a DLP and a RCA set.
But something sort of bothered me-it was on an endcap-the end of an aisle. Your eye notices things like that and they don't register it all that fast until you look around the back of the set.
The set looks as deep as a plasma, only slightly more than 6 inches deep!
There are times when only plasma does it for depth and space saving, but most plasmas in this size go for around $20K, at least the Sony one I have seen does;
the RCA DLP was on sale for $8549.
So if size is a problem depth-wise and you want to save money, I would go for it over the plasma.
The information I have on this new set is that is is wall-mountable.
This set was to go somewhere else in the store, they had just got it in so they put it on display there.Actually, it was not a bad location, as the depth was more apparent there and lighting wasn't as bright in that section of the store.

Point is, for half the price of plasma, you get a great set you can still mount on a wall, get none of the burn-in effects of plasma, and still get great colours and contrast.
I stuck my head in the back of the set without hitting my head against the endcap for fan noise and heard none.
Then I stared at the pictures for different scenes and movement on screen. Result? No "rainbow" effects or distortions as some DLP sets (I have heard) have...at least with what I saw.
My only consideration is the reliability of the RCA brand and the reliabilty of this model.:D
