Channel 88 and 89 are showing on the guide now, FOX for both with upcoming MLB.  However they really aren't there yet...but at least on the guide.

What you're getting on 6-1 is OTA and is not coming to you via DirecTV. I'm still receiving zilch on 6-1 as I always have with Fox broadcastly locally at such a low power.

Then the weather conditions must have been perfect last night. I'm in the middle of Waukesha county and last night was the first time I've ever been able to pick up the signal. That's why I thought it was coming through DirecTV. Thanks for clearing that up.

They must have been.  Last night was the first time I've been able to pick them up OTA as well.

Is the Fox 6 OTA signal in TRUE DD 5.1? I've been too lazy to hook up the optical cable to my STB lately. I have only 2 optical inputs on my HT. One is always connected to my Xbox and the other I pop between my PS2 and DVD player. Last time I had it in the STB, CBS pops me into Pro logic. ABC is in true DD 5.1 and the rest of the channels come up as DD 5.1, but sound like just plain digital stereo. What's Fox sound like to you? Stereo or DD 5.1?

P.S. Is WB 18 still broadcasting in digital? Is the HD channel now up and running instead of color bars? A couple months back I stopped getting either SD/HD WB 18 channels. I did a rescan and now it's off my channel list. Anybody else had problems with this in the last 4 months?

Fox 6-1 is being broadcast in DD 5.1 as far as I can tell.  My reciever says the decoder is working when I'm watching it.  It seems to only be in DD 5.1 during primetime and for sports.  The local news and shows like Sienfeld and Malcom (syndicates) are in Pro-Logic.

I am getting 18-1 and 24-1 as well.  I don't watch much programing on them, so I can't say for sure if it's truly HD.  I've seen a few shows on the guide that say HD next to them though.

Thanks, Gregg, looks like the numbering is now matching the 300s, same as CBS and NBC on Directv;)

There were rumors about DishNetwork on other forums slowing the FOX HD channel additions, sp I wonder if these were true and will anyone be able to get one or both of these FOX HD channels on Directv, soon (like you?):)

If you've been watching this forum you should know that 18.1 is full 1080i and they have a number of programs including Smallville in HD.  I'd rescan again and see if you can add it back, you could've lost it due to a high power analog signal ducting across the lake.  Just punch in channel 61 and see if it detects and redirects it.

BTW at 6:30 local time 88 is active with music and a Directv logo, scheduled to show MLB at 7:00pm.  Channel 89 dropped off the map though (but that would be the west coast feed so won't bother me).

Went for a walk and just came home.  The playoffs are on channel 88 FOX-HD haven't watched long enough to know if it is a network feed or a station feed.

Well it's good to see that D* came through with Fox.
A little later than we thought, but hey...what the heck.
This is great news for anyone who can't get Fox 6.

BTW, I think it's an affiliate feed, I thought I saw a Fox 5 bump at the end of a break.

Good Job D*.

Now only if the Packers could learn some defense.

Does anyone know if/when Direct TV will get Fox Sports Midwest in HD?

I would like to be able to watch a few Bucks games this year in HD on the dish, at least those that are broadcast in HD on the sports channel.

borghe

There is no FSNMW-HD. There is only FSN-HD which is on for like 50 hours out of the year.

FSN regionals are expected to start going HD sometime next year.

gparris

It is what TWC likes to call its 15th HD channel, 531 as FSN-HD.

Kind of funny because then Directv could have all kinds of HD channels with NFL ST channels, among others, like the soon-to-be permanent (hopefully) FOX  HD channel 88 for our area.:D
Look the the TWC website under the HDTV channel selection and they have a link as to whatever is on for those few hours a year it doesn't show test pattern bars.

vper

Watched some of the pregame, and swithed between the game and other stuff.

Great picture!

I am unable to receive the hd signal from fox 6.  I put in a waiver with Directv requesting the National HD feed.  Since 6 is an O&O I was under the impression that I qualify.

I Don't !!!

Channel 6 here in Milwaukee is denying these waivers explaining that the HD feed exists, and if I am unable to receive it, I should subscribe to Time-Warner cable..  That from their mouths to my ears after I callled to ask them why they denied my waiver request.

So much for Fox 6's concern for their viewiers.
