I got a flyer in the mail which said DigiPic 2000 w/ HDTV for $64.95/mo and in several locations it said "Cable + High-Speed Online + Digital Phone".  That sounded like an incredible deal so I called up.  The rep had the same flyer at her desk and thought it sounded too good to be true (as did I).  She had to look on her computer and then found out that the promotion was just for the cable and HDTV service.  The little "cable + high-speed online + digital phone" thing is aparently something that shows what services they provide and has nothing to do with the deal.  She even admitted that it was misleading because it fooled her!

Anyway, she searched for similar deals and found this one:

DigiPic 1000, high-speed online, digital phone for $99.95.  As long as you also rent a HD box you get the free HD channels.

Thats a decent deal, but not good enough for me (expecially since the price will probably go up in a few months).  Anyway, if anyone is interested in this deal, it requires you to calll a special number that was on a pizza box.  The number is: 1-866-982-8522

The normal Dig Pic 2000 is $67.95, so this looks like a $3.00 off promotion.

summerfun is right.

But remember Digipic 2000 gives you Road Runner for $40, a $5 discount and now with the $64.95 deal it ends up as a  total $8 off deal, enough to make the rental box free if you want the Road Runner.
Digital Phone has a promo for 3 months at $19.95 a month with free installation (later $39.95) and includes all favourite calling features, all local, toll, and long distance.
I just got it installed and it seems to work great.;)

So if you totaled the whole thing up with the 190 channels from the standard Digipic 1000, adding say, HBO and Showtime (2 HD version included to make it 226 channels) to make it Digipic 2000, it totals $139.80 before tax and this way your phone, high speed internet and 14 HD channels including the other 4 in the HD package.

This is why the Cable+Internet+Digital Phone design on the bottom of the information cards or flyers:
only one check (or charge) to pay instead of three!:)

For kicks, I just called the TW number to see how long that internet+digipic1k+phone deal for $99 was good for.  Aparently the price is good through May and then it jumps to $150!!! I cant believe people actually pay these prices.  A friend of mine in IL, has comcast and pays only $76/mo for internet+cable+phone.   Well, it looks like I will be starting my 8th year free of TW.  Hopefully they will reconsider their prices.  If Im getting all my services through one company, I should be getting a discount instead, TW just wants to milk us for whatever they can.

gparris

I don't see the pricing logic with the $150 posted...please explain the who, what and where you got it from.

True, if you subscribe to Digital Phone, you don't get a discount past the 3 month trial offer with the other two taken (internet and cable TV),  but you DO get a $5 discount for RR if you take the Digipic 2000 or above). :)

TWC is running a similar promtion as well:

Order DigiPic 2000 for $54.95 per month
with HBO On Demand FREE
until March, 2005
$4.95 Installation up to 2 TVs
Call 1-866-2 ENJOY TV
Expires 9/26/04

It's here too: http://www.timewarnercable.com/milwaukee/products/specials.html

My addition comes up to $150 if you add the $55 plus $40 for RR plus $8 for HD box and $7 for HD DVR service and $40 for Digital Phone once the promotion ends. :)

But Directv was about $105 with the premiums, locals, HD package and second unit with Tivo service.
Then if you add the $45 for RoadRunner and $45 for my basic phone service with very few long distance calls and all those add ons for fees and taxes, I came to over $190!

Still, quite a savings!:D

If you are already a TWC customer you can't take advantage of this deal I don't think. It says "new customers" only.

Nope, I called and upgraded to the DigiPic 2000 for $54.95 per month.

On the website it says something like "Don't have Time Warner cable or want to upgrade your cable service?" even though it later says in fine print "Offer available to new Time Warner Digital Cable customers in S.E. Wisconsin."

Oh, maybe it's because I was not a "digital" customer before, even though I had a digital box to get the HD content.

Last time I tried to get one of those deals the lady said it was only for new customers so unless we wanted to drop it for 30 days and start it "new" we were out of luck. I will call them again and see if I can do that. Right now we have DigiPac 1000, HBO and Cinemax, RR and the HD-DVR.

Bigdog

Well I called yesterday and got that DigiPic 2000 deal, thanks for posting as it did save like $20/month off the total.  We swapped the Cinemax to Showtime so now have HBO and Showtime (figured that way one more HD channel). They did have problems balancing the box as when they went to change the channels and add the ondemand it would work on one but not the other. Then they would fix that one and the other would be out. FINALLY after about an hour on the phone with them, they got both working.  I'm still not exactly sure what is involved with balancing out the box so it will get the correct channels...

gparris

Great you got the Digipic 2000 deal for HBO and Showtime as together they offer the most channels for the money and as you said, they both have the HD channels, too!:)

Balancing is what they do all the time...when I added the HD package, then got the HD DVRs, they kept turning off the package as they did their balancing act...I still don't understand it, either...just hope they don't turn off anything I pay for.

Anyway, with HBO and Showtime, they get different contracts for movies and have the most series specials and channels, like the total amount Directv has for all their premiums without having to pay for all of them ($20 TWC vs. $41 Directv) and TWC has all the channels HBO and Showtime offer, too.

If I ever had to economize, I would get the Digipic 2000
with the HD package (do you have that, too?) to maximize my HD channel offerings and keep that RoadRunner discount, too.:D

Bigdog

It worked out well as they had Romeo and Juliet on Showtime yesterday after the Packer game (which looked great on FoxHD )and my wife really wanted to watch that movie so she watched that and I did some other things (no way could I sit 2 1/2hrs through that one)

No I don't have the extra HD package where you get  HDNet etc.  I have not really what is on there. Do they have a guide somewhere to see if it's something I may want to watch.

I should have mentioned that they are worth having, these stations show concerts, baseball games, grand prix racing, IMAX movies on Sunday nights, as well as other sports and movies.  I have not been disappointed...
