I wonder if it will be Channel 544 so it goes 545-546-547-548 for the HD Package. The other TWC locations that have it already are updating their web locations for this new addition.:)
If there is a bump in the numbering, then that could mean that Bravo HD+ is on the way, too. Otherwise, I going to go to that Circuit City store advertising TWC's HD selections near the Directv one, and have it "updated" to include ESPN-HD and take off the Bravo HD+ that IS listed.:D

Thanks, mhz40!

As posted on another string, it will be channel 530 on September 16th.

The reason Channel number 530 because ESPN is analogue 30 so for HD, even though there is some added-value programming now. Maybe Bravo HD+ will be 544 or 549, instead (if they ever add it).

Note, though, you have to get the HD package unlike Discovery HD to get it, yet still, a value for $6.95 over Directv's $10.99!.:)

So INHD 1 & 2, HDNET and HDNET Movies and now, ESPN-HD!

If you include the Fox Sports Net HD, that will make 15 HD Channels on TWC....could we have Bravo HD+, now, Pleeeez!:)

QuoteTWC....could we have Bravo HD+, now, Pleeeez!

Directv has it.  But then again you are paying a premium at $10.95 for the D* HD compared to twc HD @ $6.95.  And those crooks at D* charge you less for the base packages when compared apples to apples too.  How dare they.:D

Don't forget that HD-WB should be coming soon too!

Here is the response I received from TWC this morning......

Thank you for choosing Time Warner Cable.

Dear Valued Customer:

We are pleased to announce that Time Warner Cable has reached an agreement with ESPN HD. ESPN HD will be launched on Thursday, September 16, 2004.

ESPN HD will be offered in the HD Package on channel 530. The HD Package also includes iNHD(545), iNHD2(546), HDNet(547), and HDNet Movies(548). The HD Package is $6.95(w/o tax). If you are not currently subscribed to the HD Package, please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-627-2288 to add the package to your current service.

THIS IS AWESOME NEWS

Wrong thread, wrong information, but thanks for the wishful thinking!:(

So I gotta pay extra for the HD equivilant of an analog station TWC already carries?  It would be nice if they'd let me drop analog ESPN and trade it for the HD version.  That's pretty lame.

gparris

The analogue channels are really awful.
No wonder SBG has TWC by the horns in digital channel delivery.
So without an antenna, we subscribers are shafted without HD for another WB season, to say nothing of UPN:(

As for charging for ESPN-HD, Directv does and offers it in a package that costs $4 more than TWC with INHD 1 & 2 included.;)

Note the HD pkg pricing did not go up with this ESPN-HD addition, either, so there!:D

mhz40

You are shafted WITH an antenna...  Per my recent discussion with WCGV, UPN has zero, zip, nada local HD content planned this year.

I thought Jimboy said that the HD equipment has already been ordered for 24-1.  I would think that after that equipment  is installed they will pass along the network HD feed to us.  Granted UPN isn't exactly a leader in HD content, but to me it sounded like I would be watching 24-1 in HD fairly soon.  Perhaps I misinterpreted.

ESPNHD is active on 530 if you have the HD package and go into diagnostic mode....to me it seems like they are on track to open it up to all by the 16th.

multiple people I have spoken with (higher ups) and jimboy have said that the equipment is on order for WCGV. If has nothing to do with it. They are hoping to have everything going by later this fall.

In the meantime the only UPN HD show is Enterprise, though that will be changing now with CBS' second HD facility.

I'm not saying WCGV will definitely be HD this year but everything that has been told to me makes it seem likely.

According to the AVS HDTV programming thread:

UPN also offers the Friday night movie in HD.  It sounds like more HD programming for the network is coming sooner rather than later.
