Does anyone own an Epson Home 10+ video projector? I am trying to find somewhere to see it in person before buying. Thanks.

I have not seen this projector but from what I have read I would be hesitant to purchase it.  Its relatively dim (1k lumens) which means you will need a pretty dark room.  Also the max resolution of the thing is only 480 which is relatively low.  While few if any projectors under $3k offer true HD, you can get a lot closer than this.  Also it is a 16:9 projector.  While 16:9 sets are preferable, in the case of projectors its my opinion that 4:3 is the best way to go.  I came to this conclusion after reading the following link.

Depending on how much you have to spend, I would recommend getting one of the projectors on these lists.

Note, the MSRP prices do not reflect the actual prices.  For example my projector, NEC LT260K, is said to be $4000 yet I paid around $2200 last year.  I would just recommend finding a projector you like then enter it into http://www.mysimon.com to see if its available for a reasonable price.  Also check for manufacturer rebates.

Thanks for responding. I've read all the info. at Projectorcentral.com, and by the way that list you refer to is based on popularity, not quality or reviews. I go by the "Highly recommended projectors" list they have. Not all of us can afford to buy a 720P projector, so we buy a 480P projector.
