I sent a message to WB18 through their website. Being it was a reply to a public message from no discernable manager or such I am comfortable with posting the response here. Also take it with a grain of salt being it was a reply to a public message from no discernable manager

The email they sent me back said they have the equipment needed to pass through the WB signal on order and that their goal is to be passing through WB's HD signalby fall.  They seemed to imply that is has been on order for a bit and manufacturers are having a hard time keeping up with orders due to the influx of stations going to HD.

Anyway, there you have it. Hopefully by fall.

Cool!!!

Greg Lengling posted something about a new Star Trek show.  I assume it will be produced in HD.  Who is gonna air it?

If it ends up on ch. 24, I hope the owners of ch. 18 will also have ch. 24 broadcasting in HD also.

Sorry if I am asking for too much.

720p

Here's the reply I received from them on 5/5/04.

QuoteWe have had equipment on order to provide HD broadcasts of all of our programming (including WB) since last November.  The equipment has not yet arrived and the manufacturer has not provided a delivery date.  With all of the demand for digital broadcast equipment, a number of the manufacturers have fallen behind in producing their respective products.  When the equipment does arrive, we will get it installed and on the air as soon as possible.

In the meantime, keep watching our digital SD programming which is still better quality than analog.  Our company also has invested considerable sums of  money in order to provide those digital signals.
